    Jon Snow here as well.

Surprise by the number of Jamie's here, after all those "Owls" on Clutchfans from the last quiz.

I disagree. As a TV-only watcher who also took the time to watch and read the history of GOT and the Houses, the "clues" become quite a bit more apparent. Especially....actually taking the time read about the events the directly led to the situation of season 1.

The solution to the spoiler problem is to create 3 separate threads.

    GOT: Season 5 TV/Noobs only

    GOT: Season 5 TV

    GOT: Season 5 Book Readers

I'm not trying to sound snarky or pretentious, but there's a lot information the show doesn't have the time to explain. Reading/watching the events that led up to the the show makes everything more apparent. Whether the theory is true or not is debatable, but it's not "spoilering" something when you are too lazy to read the backstory and the history. TV-only GOTers aren't somehow excused....

Totally disagree. I'm a lazy person but there isn't homework or pre/post-reading to earn gold stars or watching privileges for Game of Thrones. Following your logic, you are still lazy by virtue of not reading the books...just less lazier than the people who haven't scoured the internet for some arbitrary condition of what is or isn't a spoiler.

So if "laziness" some qualifier or bar to be measured, you haven't made it yet either. But here you are in the non-spoilers thread instead of the other thread because you have similar pre-conditions of not wanting to be spoiled.

The only reason this thread is less a spoiler driven ****hole than other GoT threads found in other forums is because most people try to be considerate and the mods are cleaning up thread crappers.

You may not know this, but there's discussion on what diverges from the books and show and what is new from the TV series and what isn't. And from what I understand (and don't care to confirm or go into), the show writers might just shift some things out of order to make the revealing of a plot point "work" for television. So whatever you may think as "backstory" isn't necessarily dead/buried and could potentially be revealed later on in the show.

So kudos for you for finding sources that try not to reveal everything, a backstory with training wheels, but I'm betting there are less of you than the people who avoid the net for anything GoT related.

Of course there are no "gold stars" but only the satisfaction of better understanding of why things are unfolding the way they are.

In the context of my reply, of this Jon Snow "theory", my point is that it shouldn't be considered "off limits" info. I'll concede "lazy" wasn't an appropriate word, I'll try "indifference". Indifference isn't an excuse/shield from over "overhearing" how the theory could pan out, in my opinion.

Again, I'll concede the lazy issue.

It is, but apparently there are still disagreements about what is considered spoilers.

It will be interesting to see how both the book and show conclude simultaneously....

Absolutely, which is curious it's considered a spoiler by some. Or similar information/theories.

Guess I figured there was more people, like me, out there.... :(

This thread would be like 30 pages if we removed all the whining. That 30% or so of actual show discussion is pretty interesting.

On that note, I'm hoping they can keep the actors in their roles. The dude that played Jacqen Hagar was pretty good. I'm really excited to see Arya in Braavos next season.

Oh and for whoever said Jaime with two hands was only second to Barristan at fighting, I would say that I bet the Red Viper could have taken him.

Agreed with that. Sounds like he's universally one of the most popular characters that has been on the show, which is a pretty amazing credit to him as an actor, since there are like 8 million characters, and his role was minuscule.

Unfortunately, who knows if he even still exists? He told Arya that "Jaqen Hagar is dead". And then changed to another face. Anything is possible in the GoT world though, I suppose.

One of my favorite scenes in the entire series

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z80-vy3VQ00

At 3:26 he says a a girl lacks honor, and Arya basically tells him a girl doesn't give a s**t with just a shrug, which was refreshingly un-stark of her. Not to mention the line about the super mysterious assassin still having to do patrol duty.

The series really hit it out of the park with Arya, here scenes with Tywin, Jacqen, and the Hound were all great. It seems no matter who they team her with it works out well.

The show has been solid casting all around, but Arya definitely won me over from minute one. I'll be highly disappointed if she gets the Martin treatment, but don't hope anyway.

The Red Viper casting was also one of the best.
