I am pretty sure he did. It was a year ago, but I believe that he called Howard.. at a minimum did not say he wanted another player.

FWIW Rose at this point has about as little power in the Bulls organization as any max player does across the NBA. Reinsdorf isn't happy with him, and Thibs will work with him, but he is an afterthought.

Wow. I can't even imagine how pissed I would be if I were Bulls fan and read this. Coming from the guy who can't even stay on the court.

I don't know about the Love part, but Rose has the "I don't need to recruit. If a player wants to play with me they will" mindset.

He may have an ego problem.

I remember Lebron recruiting Michael Redd and feeling really jilted.

The argument of ball dominance by Harden is played out and kind of lazy if you ask me. Like it's been said before, Harden is a willing passer if he has to be. I remember in an interview before, he said he would much rather average 10+ assists than 30ppg if it helped the team. And it's not like he's never played with 2 other superstars before in Durant and Westbrook, which are maybe the two most ball dominant players in the league. Sure, Harden had a different role then and wasn't known to be an All-Star in the league yet but he still made that situation work out. He was a huge part of that team and still even had offensive explosions while he was there (I believe he had a 40pt game as an OKC Thunder).

I don't know. Rose is apparently thought of as a pretty humble guy.

I think back to what Dwight said last week — about giving Carmelo the space he needs to make his own decision. It could be more about empathy and respect than ego.

I don't think so. His quote was pretty egotistical. Dwight talked about giving space because he doesn't want to bother the guy or make him uncomfortable. Rose talked about it like he wasn't going to lower himself to the level of recruiting someone. He's good enough that you should want to join him.

Maybe pride more than ego. I don't know.

Anyway, I never buy into the "humble athlete" narrative. Honestly though, ego doesn't mean they want media attention.

Rose is telling the truth but it would have been wise to keep that to himself.

Maybe you're right. If so, let's just hope Melo sees that as a turn-off.

Rose is so insecure with his Melo/Love comments. How about he focus on staying on the court:confused:

If I'm Melo no way in he'll I'm signing with The Bulls especially after the Rose comment. Go to Houston where you'd be welcomed by everyone.

Kevin Love isn't a FA though and the Rockets don't have anything the Wolves want.

Rose doesn't recruit. Not a big deal. Didn't recruit LeBron James; staying consistent with himself won't recruit Carmelo Anthony. Good for him.

Dwight said he wasn't going to recruit this offseason either.

Jokingly, why should he recruit? Not like he plays. Tom Thibodeau and you know, the guy who does play, Joakim Noah, have {reportedly} constantly been in Carmelo's ear.

It's all rumors though... Rose could easily come out and say those words never left his mouth... and feasibly recruit him by saying "I never said that... I would love Melo on my team"... and not get fined by NBA.

What does this map/legend prove? ESPN has NO RESPECT for Houston that they give a 9% chance that he'll return to NY when he is OPTING OUT!!!

Melo to the Bulls is what ESPN wants... they didn't even put the Rockets on the poll...

I mean its likely Melo goes to the Bulls but I think most neutrals would give the Rockets a good chance at landing him too.
