Show me the last time that Vandy had a run of QBs, LTs and 5star WRs like this and I will show you when they ran that state. Right now, Sumlin is getting pretty much anybody he wants. #WRTS
Texas A&M going to the SEC will have 0 effect on recruiting. It will only mean other SEC teams will get a foothold into Texas. Also, there are still weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and some other **** that was 100% wrong. http://www.mystatesman.com/news/spo...atesmanstubtomystatesman_launch?__federated=1
Then there was the "going to the SEC may give A&M a small advantage in a sliver of east Texas." I guess that sliver includes Dallas.
So your saying that because you are recruiting really well right now, you basically run the state? Did Texas run the state from 2010-2012? We had amazing classes that did absolutely nothing on the field. The logic that you are using makes no sense. I think you should look at Texas's recruiting classes from 2009-2012 and tell us what you find. Just a bunch of 4 and 5 star recruits that did nothing. I do not expect your recruiting class to end in the top 10 because I figure you guys will lose at least 6 games this year. No manziel to bail you out, freshman QB, still a terrible defense that just lost 3 starters from being kicked off the team. It's a shame you guys only rely on recruiting championships in june instead of on the field results which you have zero to show for.
That sure wasn't the spin coming out of Austin the first few years that Brown was there. Even on Orangebloods, the guys in Austin know that things are not goi well for them and that A&M is on one hell of a roll.
Freshman QB...subpar defense...blah blah blah. I think I have heard this before. Oh yeah...it was August 2012.
Had a hell of a year, but still didn't contend for a national championship or even play in conference championship. Congrats on the success in recruiting so far, but I'm not worried about the lil aggies becoming a powerhouse anytime soon.
They were a Florida field goal away from playing for the SEC title. Win that game and play ND for the crystal football. We were 11-2 that season. Meanwhile in Austin, enjoy empty seats, leaving at halftime and 7-5 seasons in the Big 12 (which isn't what it used to be after the addition of WV and TCU).
You probably want to check yourself next time you think it's a good idea to run smack that goes "we were a win away from being a win away from being a win away from being national champions!"
Johnny manziel was not a true freshman QB. He sat behind Tannehill for a year. It's almost as if aggys dismiss this fact. Have fun on your 6-6 season.
The point is that they were 11-2 and easily could have been in the championship hunt, unlike that team in Austin. I really didn't think I would have to explain that to anybody.
By the way ... Thanks for that ... If it were not for that game, we would still have Sherman, who would have started Showers over JFF, and we would not have made as much progress as we have. Yes, recruiting does not mean we will win, but everyone knows it is very difficult to win big without getting recruits like A&M had the last 2 years ... Sure, this year might still be a struggle with a young offense and a patchwork D, but the foundation is being laid for a potential sustained run, which has not happened in Aggieland since the mid 90s. Love all the people thinking a bad year is going to cause us to lose recruits .. these recruits see the lack of experienced talent on D and they see themselves as the answer to that ... If we can keep them from smoking weed and committing armed robbery, we will have a reapectable Defense to go with an amazing offense in a few years.
