It was clearly a penalty. No doubt about it. Iran got robbed.

    P.S.: Dejagah is German...

Born in Iran living in Germany playing at Fulham. One of the many players these days that play for countries they were born in regardless of where they got citizenship.

Our striker lives in the Netherlands as well as a few other players around Europe. Much like jones on the US etc.

Isn't there an American playing for Iran?

Coming up for air again. What a World Cup so far. Devastated for Iran. France is proving worthy of my love. Ghana played incredible except for the final third again. So much heart, speed, and talent, but still issues with finishing. Ayun should have squared to Gyan on that break...almost certainly a goal.

I don't get Khedira of Basti at all. Only thing I can think is Loew has been trying to preserve legs while getting Khedira some time to get into better form before the knockout games (where he could sub iron play with Basti)?

Anyway, Germany clearly woke up after the second Ghana goal but even still both teams were like a Rocky movie in the final rounds where they are exhausted but still throwing unrealistically powerful haymakers.

Now Germany will have to go all out vs US which will only help the US in the long run. I also think Ghana will beat Portugal.

Yes, Ghana will beat Portugal, I agree. Hopefully Löw finally makes changes for the match vs. USA. Schweinsteiger is the true leader of the team and needs to play. Özil needs to be on the bench, put in Podolski or Schürrle. Lahm should play right wing defender, not in midfield. Lahm and Löw finally need to come to their senses. Put in Durm instead of Höwedes. Move Boateng to central defender (if fit), take out Mertesacker. If Boateng is not fit, play Mertesacker. Really like the guy, but he is too slow. Boateng is fast.

    So:

    .............................Neuer..............................
    Lahm.....Boateng (Merte)......Hummels.......Durm
    ...............Khedira...........Schweinsteiger...........
    .............................Kroos...............................
    ........Müller.............Götze.....Podolski (Schürrle)

    Subs: Klose, Draxler, Großkreutz

Mertesacker really is too slow for this team in my opinion. He's actually quite a good player, but he can be exposed. Hope Portugal get knocked out - Pepe does my head in.

Will be interesting to see how Holland does against Chile. I hear Vidal may not be playing. I think this will be a true test of how things stand.

What I find really curious is that Brazil plays AFTER us. In every other round they've played first, being in group A. Now they can pick and choose their result depending on who they want to avoid. Seems strange. I guess TV times must have something to do with it as well. I really want to avoid Brazil in any case. Am thinking they'd actually prefer playing us over Chile.

I think Brazil would have to have a lot of respect, whether they play Netherlands or Chile. In any case, I will root for Netherlands or Chile against Brazil...but I think the referees will help Brazil.

Yeah I thought after Euro 12 Mertesacker was finished as a starter for Germany. But really against the US it is not as if speed is needed so maybe one more game then keep him on the bench for the later rounds.

I agree with the defensive moves and subs you suggest otherwise. Don't get what Howedes is generally doing out there and he was completely gassed against Ghana.

I like Ozil when he is on but two games in and he is not doing much. He needs at least the threat of Pod or Schurrle taking his spot.

I agree about the whole ref thing. I wouldn't mind playing Brazil in another country, but considering they're playing at home they'll get the calls when they need them. That's the main reason I don't want Holland playing them. But whatever, we're in the second round - I wasn't even expecting that!

My girlfriend said "I didn't know Robben was THIS good - he's my new favourite player". I'm kinda hoping football fans will start thinking the same. The guy is our best player and I think he's in the top 5 right now, easily. Time to really cement his place amongst the greats.

I'm having objective thoughts about the teams and nations, not the clouded fanboy view that guys like you display here all the time.

Being a fan of Bayern and showing it doesn't mean I'm a fanboy, read my posts (positive and negative comments on Germany&Bayern, neutral on other nations) before saying garbage like this.

Speak with respect when you talk to me boy. Don't hold an aura of superiority. You do not display objectivity but passive aggressive arrogance in everything. I don't give a flying **** about your precious Bayern and it pisses you off for some reason. You are a deeply biased fanboy. Acceptance is the first step.

I have no reason to show your respect here, you're the one accusing people of things they are not, without backing it up.

I just posted out the stupidity of ItalianRocket
saying Hazard will destroy Germany because of his speed, while ignoring we handled Ronaldo and Nani with ease.. And he's calling us little b****, too.
It's not arrogance or fanboyism to call someone out that is talking out of his azz and being rude.

I was just being true and you stepped in because I said something against your Chelsea buddy. The irony in calling me a fanboy after this situation is startling.
