I'm proud of our team,I think we should have had a PK and some nice chances stopped by the goalie. Deflating. Almost like the rockets loss to Portland.
Had some nice bright moments of individual play. The set pieces were where we shined. But couldn't get it into the back of the net. I feel that one should have been a PK. I know it's hard in real time and ref had bad angle. What Do you guys think? Our coach said 2 people changed the outcome of game lol. Ref and messi
Man we really did have our chances! We got screwed I believe by the refs... I'm very proud of Iran and the effort they gave tonight, I just can't get away from heartbreaking losses...Lillard now Messi.. We still have a chance, lets hope for the best.
Only shine in that one situation where he scored the goal, same as in game one. Messi plays mediocre for 87 minutes and scores/assists when the game is on the line.
Still can't get enough of that strike! I would be worried if I was Argentina though, they have skated by and their group is one of the easier ones.
I watch soccer every 4 years so my understanding of the sport is next to nothing but that was supposed to be beautiful soccer by Iran? Looked like they just stacked the goal and tried to keep Argentina from scoring, which was a damn good strategy but certainly boring to a casual fan.
It was boring for anyone to watch. Casual or not. They keep saying best case for the US would be for a big German win. Wouldn't it actually be a tie in this game and then beating Portugal? That way, they'd clinch and be on top of the group.
US are looking just to get in that 2nd seed. Nobody here even predicted them getting out. I'd rather have a two way fight for 2nd seed than a 4 way fight for the top two seeds.
You can't expect Iran to keep up with the talent of Argentina so they had to play off the ball... They held their lines and just waited for Argentina to make poor touches and then tried to capatilize. If the had tried to attack, attack, attack they would have been very vulnerable on the counter attack.
