Money - as annoying as the Lin idiots are, they represent more eyeballs watching and more advertising dollars. When was the last time you met an omer only fan?

im just afraid of a scenerio where lin does get traded, reworks his contract for reasonable amount after it expires, and surprisingly becomes a very competent point guard.

and then we face palm about it 3-4 years from now just as we have done with every decent point guard we traded in the past.

The Rockets don't have 3-4 years to waste. Especially on a d-league to nba PG with a third star on the horizon. Forget that scrub and his backloaded contract.

This is our chance. With Harden and Howard being healthy, now is the important time to get third star to compete for championship that we have been waiting for.

Moving Lin was and should never have been thought of as "easy". If Amick is right then Morey is willing to give up something significant to move Lin (and/or Asik) IF and ONLY IF LeBron/Melo is a-go. Those are the only two stars that can help the team and Les recoup any advertising/sponsorship money loss from losing Lin. Otherwise, keeping Lin (and/or Asik) serves two purpose:

    1. they come off of the books next season
    2. keep the Lin fans and fans abroad happy

Come on. Let's not go that far. It's no more rational to root for a team just because you live in that location(or whatever other reason) than it is to just follow a player and root for his success. Both make equal amount of sense to me, even if the latter is a bit awkward in a team game.

But this is the ROCKETS message board. And there does exist a Jeremy Lin message board. I don't go on Lin's board. I honestly don't see why LOFs would come here.

I'm in a pessimistic mood for our offseason, so I wish Moray the best of luck.

those people all have similar names, and by those people i mean sports writers.
is this the one from chicago? the one that got the tmac trade down after seven years in a row of suggesting a tmac trade?

If Parsons is resigned then does it matter if Lin/Asik come off the books next summer? Won't we be over the cap anyway?

If you sign parsons for a reasonable contract the. You can trade for for cap space and asset to free up room. Problem is you lose him versus being able to go over the cap to sign him.

If we could only hire Bruce Bowen and teach him to warg into James Harden whenever the Rockets are on defense.

Not 100% sure. I remember Cybrex created a thread near start of season that Dwight was not happy with the PG situation too.

Lin fans never had a problem with Knicks fans. I think Links bad relationship with teammates and his coaches combined with his diminishing role fueled the animosity between Lin Fans and Die hard rockets fans. It will be good for both groups to get a change of scenery.

Yes, that thread said he wasn't happy with either Lin or Bev and wanted a PG he considered elite. Since then, however, he has suggested he'd like to play with Melo or Lebron -- again, both scenarios which would no doubt require moving Lin. I know the Harden-dislikes-Lin narrative is more interesting, but everything in that post points to Dwight.
