Right, and after that date I'm sure there is all sorts of unofficial contact. My point was that they haven't had contact with his agent YET to setup a meeting. And if they HAVE had contact, they sure as hell aren't going to advertise it because the penalties are severe.
LeBron, Bosh and Wade's is a week later, the 30th. I guess being in the finals gives you an extension.
Dwight and Fegans set up at the Bel-Air Hotel and all the teams came to them for meetings. Essentially Dwight and Fegans set up whom they wanted to talk to on their terms.
Let me take a stab on it, Ricky Bobby's father was instrumental to his son to get over the fear of moving on. (Lebron leaving the heat). Boo yah!!!!
Carmelo will do the same. However, he (and the teams he wants to meet) will have to wait until the 23rd to be able to contact each other. Dwight, OTOH, was an unrestricted free agent, therefore allowed to talk to whoever he wanted as soon as the season ended.
Why Melo is waiting until monday to make his decision i really dont know. Why Melo would opt in with the Knicks, especially if Amare opts in too. And i would think Amare would opt in to cash in on his 23 million, since he has injury issues. Even if Amare opts out they are still over the cap.
Huge coincidence: I was rewatching this movie a few weeks ago, and just a few days later I was reading an article which quoted Lebron and he said something like (paraphrased): "For where I am in my career, you either win the championship or you've lost. There's nothing in between." I'm trying to find this quote right now. Which prompted me to remember the quote from the Ricky Bobby movie "if you're not first, you're last." I think there's definitely a connection there. Also, in one corner you have Harden. In another Howard. And in another corner "DING DING" i.e. two rings i.e. Lebron James, who has two nba championship rings. Perhaps Harden and Howard are a bit feisty about turning this into Lebron's team? I don't know. OTOH, I sometimes wonder if Docrocket just throws stuff out there, and then he and Tad Brown get together and laugh about how fans will make all kinds of **** up to suit their existing narrative.
If the 3 corners refers to 3 teams who have synched up a 3 team trade... Asik & Lin for Carmelo Harden, Jones and D Mo for Kevin Love & Rubio works in trade machine. A Rubio/Parsons/Anthony/Love/Dwight lineup is one of a few which wouldn't be penalized by Ricky's lack of shooting.
LOL GTFO we aren't trading Harden. Parsons would be shipped out in your scenario. Which, in return, likely wouldn't work in the trade machine.
I don't see Parsons leaving after whatever chaos ensues, think talks have already been had with Fegan and there is an understanding that him and Dwight together was decided last summer. Why I think Rockets are saying and actually will let Parsons get his first pay day this summer. I'm not saying Harden should be traded, but from a team standpoint if he's the difference between upgrading at 3 out of 4 positions and the other players involved want it to happen could see it. We've only seen max players on their way out being traded in the nba, what would one under contract fetch? What if Minnesota sends draft picks with Love so they can have Harden until his first free agency? Fegan also is the agent for Rubio, Kevin Martin, Varejao, DeMarcus Cousins, Shawn Marion and Jimmy Butler. If any of those players end up moving wouldn't be shocked if he pitched Rockets to them.
LeBron James said on Saturday that he would rather miss the playoffs than not win a championship. "I'd rather get my two months off," James said. People will probably take this the wrong way just because LeBron is such a lightning rod for the trolls, but it's not an outlandish statement at all. Winning a title obviously means a lot to him and losing is never easy after a lengthy run in the postseason. His ankle is fine and he'll look to extend his season on Sunday. There is so much speculation in your post. I see what you are trying to say, but Harden is not getting dealt to anyone to bring in anyone else. The whole point is to bring in another big name star to play with Harden and Howard. Not deal Harden to have a Howard (insert another All Star here) and Parsons. I like Parsons and if we can keep him and add another guy then I would be ecstatic. However, he is certainly gone if Melo or Lebron want to come here. Thus the reason we didn't pick up Parsons option. He is the prime candidate for a S&T. Morey knows what he is doing.
I'm of the opinion that the next guy to throw in with the organization has more power than the first guy who did. Harden has 4 years $65 million left, Dwight will be a free agent again before he hits it for the first time. Whoever the Rockets get this summer will be a free agent at the same time as Harden. Maybe Melo's the wrong choice in your mind, but let's use LeBron instead in this example. If LeBron says he'll come after the Rockets clear cap space, but that he would expect a certain style of basketball if he were to do so, you move Harden for Love 10 times out of 10 if LeBron wants a stretch 4 instead of a iso shooting guard, especially if you can improve the rest of your team in the process with rotation players and draft picks.
however way you cut it up it means we are going after lebron, melo, love, bosh. i doubt it gives any clue as to which. maybe 3 teams fighting for melo (ny, chi, hou) maybe 3 starts in miami fighting (lebron wants to take less money to afford more help, but bosh and wade want to opt in) so morey has the "if you're not first, you're last" pitch ready for lebron. not enough info as to who we are going after, but definitely a hint at morey's pitch to a FA...
That makes a lot of sense but man does that sound too good to be true? I'll add in that, maybe the 3 are three teams fighting over one player and DM has the lead.
