Yeah, spoiler tags gives people a choice. Keep in mind you want to share something that you couldn't reasonably piece together from the show itself. You'll still get the joy of how the show may or may not present the source material, but you don't really have ownership of the idea since you spoiled yourself with the backstory. Or you could start reading the books and join the other thread.
Avoiding posting any specifics, the funny thing about "The Theory" is just how clear it is in the books. I remember when I thought of it somewhere during reading book 3 or 4 and thought I was so clever. One google search told me pretty much everyone had come to the same conclusion long before I did. lol Still, I was proud that I came to it on my own. The obvious nature of it has caused me to watch the show and read the books going forward as if it's true.
I am not a book reader but I follow it anyway so I know all the theories. I agree with you, there is no possible way a TV-Only Watcher could go with that theory. 90% of the first questions they would ask would require an answer directly from the books IMO.
No way you could understand what I'm saying unless you've read the theory, if not it's just a random string of words. Quit acting like a b****.
Because it's so widely known I have a feeling George RR Martin will change it up a bit, but considering how much it makes sense I hope he doesn't.
Nah, I'm just not as dumb as you are. How many characters in GoT with unknown lineage and "dark black hair" are there??
I often wonder how fan reactions and fan conversations directs his, or any other writer of a serial like this, writing of the books/show. Rocket River
I was rewatching and didn't understand something. In season 1, the episode where Drogo pours the gold onto Vyseres's head, Dany replies by saying that he wasn't a real dragon since fire can't hurt dragons. At the time of course, I thought it was just a figure of speech. Then however, Dany emerges from the fire to give birth to the dragons. So only some targeryans possess that?
I wasn't being insulting. He doesn't understand how others could easily deduce what he's talking about by the context of his post. dumb adjective \ˈdəm\: not having the capability to process data I then made an effort to explain why he's dumb, which was relevant to the responses, but you chose to cut that out of my quote, in your trolling and thread-derailing efforts. That kind of stuff is best left out of the thread.
I had the same question right after I read about "The Theory" and Googled it. I accidentally clicked on a "book link". I'm spoilering it. It doesn't contain any information about future events, but it contains "historical information" about Westeros that is not in the show. Apparently, it is from the books, which I have no desire to read. But by the period seen in the show, it is all ancient history. If it had to do directly with what is coming, I wouldn't post it, and instead would be trying my best to forget. But you would not know this info only from the show. If you have paid attention to "The Theory" enough that you are thinking about it, and asking questions about hair color, I don't think you will feel particularly spoiled, unless you are a certain somebody who knows who he is. Spoiler Aegor Rivers was a b*stard son of Aegon IV, aka Aegon Targaryen, who apparently spread his seed liberally. He was actually a "great b*stard" because the mother was also a noble. Apparently in the books, the Targaryens have purple eyes in addition to the silver hair. Aegor Rivers apparently had the purple Targaryen eves, but had black hair and a black beard. Therefore. based on historical info in the books, you can't use Jon Snow's black hair to rule out "The Theory".
George R R Martin has stated several times that Dany's immunity to fire was unique and it is not something any other Targ has been able to do.
I would think someone with such an inferiority complex would have ran through all the books by now...so you could start hanging out in the pretentious book readers thread and circle jerk about how smart you are... I must have pegged you wrong
I accidentally read a portion of it a few days ago and quickly averted my eyes before completing it when I realized that it was a spoiler. I read enough to figure out who you were talking about, and in what context. So, yeah, you kind of gave it away. I hope its not true. I like to be surprised when watching the show, but at the same time discussing theories should be fine. When the theory originates from book readers and is widely accepted as likely true, however, it cross over into spoiler territory.
Beyond the birth of the dragons .. . has this been demonstrated again? One would think it would be a powerful demonstration of her 'godliness' and she would do it more often. Rocket River
But then it would burn her hair and clothes off. I'm not sure she wants to put the "Full Targaryen" on display for her new subjects whenever somebody doubts her. Although, in the books she does walk around Mereen with one boob hanging out, as is the custom in that part of the world.
Don't know if this has been posted before, little quiz that determines which GoT character you are. http://www.zimbio.com/quiz/hpbWxCCmzMR/Game+Thrones+Character
