Haven't seen this. Hope Dwight's influence and Rose's knees are as big as Amick made them out to be.

We obviously see things completely differently.

I've always thought Melo played LeBron as well as anybody, and having Dwight down low will definitely hurt LBJ's ability to score in the paint. so I think so (especially if that team is the Heat with Wade's broken down overpaid ass).

Hopefully, and melo has to see this. If rose was fully healthy I'd say chicago, but we of all people know you can't mess with those leg injuries.

If LeBron doesn't opt out I would be ok with settling for Melo. Really hope it doesn't happen that way though.

    You will "settle" for Melo?

The Rockets will be extremely lucky to land Carmelo Anthony. The most likely scenario is the Rockets don't end up with James, Love, Anthony or Bosh.

The Rockets will probably not get Anthony, but they could be in line for some former Bulls like Deng and Boozer. It would not be the worst thing in the world.

Going from possibly Love or Anthony to Boozer would be pretty depressing for me.

If James and Bosh opt in and cripple Miami's ability to sign anyone else
    and
Anthony and Love stay out east . . .. I could live with that

    Rocket River
would not be IDEAL . . but .. . . . on to the second teir players

We are getting Melo. James will go back to Miami. People are over analyzing the situation it's simple.

Reading the Chicago board, their local reporters/insiders all claim Chicago's the favorite. I think clearly Melo hasn't made his mind yet and is gonna ride out the entire FA process getting wined and dined by both parties.

Personally, I think the key recruiting pitch the Rockets MUST show Melo is how he's going to work on our team. It's not just this board. But everywhere people are proclaiming Houston a bad fit because Harden/Melo/Dwight not being able to share the ball and neither Melo nor Harden play defense. Both areas have to be addressed seriously because they are valid concerns. And I imagine the Rockets huge coaching pitch to Hollins is in part to help solidify our argument how defense would work with Melo/Harden.

The Rockets also must make the case how Melo on the Rockets would make them a more likely championship contender in the West vs. the Bulls with Melo. All things being equal, you would take the path of least resistance.

I think Miami getting killed by the Spurs pretty much made this case for the Rockets. In the end, even if you do play in the east, you still need the best team to win the championship.

Rose would be the key for Chicago's pitch and they cannot promise anything. Once Chicago clears cap space they lose too many valuable players to their rotation. Then ultimately they end up where they are right now. If Rose is healthy now that's a different story. Media just doesn't want to see Houston shine. If Chicago had our roster and vice versa the national media wouldn't even mention Houston.

That seems like a MELO MOVE
I am not impressed with Melo myself
I mean he is good. . but he seems to have less Drive than LeBron

I think here. . . Dwight maybe able to pull him along

The Bulls boards think they are the favorite becUse the media and talk radio in Chicago are calling them the favorite in part because it is better ratings and football isn't geared up yet.

Yeah, everything else just seems like a smokescreen. Melo and Dwight love each other and we've been hearing for months how we were going after Melo this summer.

Melo as a primary scorer role / stretch pf ala olympics should be our pitch to how we intend to incorporate him. He absolutely dominated if I recall and his best season as a pro was also as a pf with tyson next to him. Anthony has never played with elite talent like Howard and Harden in the nba. Also Harden is a natural distributor rather than unstoppable scorer. Both can preserve energy for defense once in a while.

Where there's smoke there's fire. You're right that the Rockets generally take a backseat, but it's not as if the Rockets record of getting stars is any good. Bosh, DWill, Melo, Dwight(1st time)... We've struck out every single time the media dismissed us.

Dwight last year was the first time you heard the national media had the Rockets as one of the top suitors, and lo and behold we got him. The national media may not always be right, but if they're generally in the ballpark.
