Happens with me every summer. You vacation this time of year it's unavoidable.

It seems like just yesterday I was in Cozumel in july 2009 monitoring this bbs if we got Rashard Lewis or not

I think Howard already forget that. If you remind him, he would want to cry now.

That's just fan fiction and emotional fan nonsense.

Chicago won 48 games with Rose only playing 10 games and Deng only playing 23 games.

Deng and Boozer had the most FGA per game behind Rose so Melo will get plenty of touches in Chicago.

Chicago has to lose quite a bit of their core in order to make a move for Melo, it would be just Noah who is vastly overrated lately, Melo, and Rose's corpse. Sure they'll win plenty of games and go to the playoffs every year because the East is a sad joke, but they wouldn't be a legit contender.

Boozer is $16.8 mil, Gibson is $8 mil and Butler is still on rookie deal @ $2 mil. If Melo is willing to take less they might be able to keep both Gibson and Butler. Both are part of their core so it would hurt to lose either of them.

Noah put up all around good numbers. 12.6 pts, 5.4 ast, 11.3 reb, 1.2 stl and 1.5 blocks. He's not going to score 18pts like Howard, but he's definitely a top 5 center.

Why would Melo wanna go there to play with Noah.

It's like Howard again. Let it all play out. Best situation is in Houston for Melo or Lebron.

Another thing about Chicago is that Reinsdorf refuses to pay the tax. That's a huge downer if I'm Melo.

Again though, that team wouldn't be a contender so there's not much of an advantage over just staying in NY

Defense wins championships......or extra good offense wins championship?

The Spurs won the title because McHale destroyed us in the playoffs.

Everything you keep trying to say, goes against what reality is. It doesn't matter if you like him, he would make us better immensely. Harden gets ran in to the ground. If you want to get better on defense, you don't run any players in to the ground, especially when that player has no backup. Melo alleviates all that, by allowing, not just Harden, but even guys like Parsons, who obviously get overplayed, to rest. Harden has played good defense for multiple consecutive seasons. Parsons can play defense as well. Both had to switch roles to maintain some kind of energy to score buckets in closing out games. You eliminate that, you've solved the core of our defensive problems.

You keep trying to make arguments that fit your misguided opinion, and you're not considering what's best for the Rockets. There's no argument to be made against acquiring Melo. None. Not even a little bit. Unless you're rooting against the Rockets, of course.

Common sense is common sense. You take a superstar if you had the chance. To argue against that, maybe it's time to check out a new forum. Something non basketball related.

Right now, Melo is a win-win for us.

If he joins the Rockets, we win.

If he goes to the Bulls, he'll be in the east and not be a threat to us at all. The Bulls won't make the finals, considering Rose's better days are far behind him.

We also have two superstars already, are about to get rid of Lin, and coaches can be fired at any point at will.

Time to kick our feet up and enjoy. Third star, or no third star, we'll be at the very, very top of the food chain soon.

In addition to this, If Love doesn't come to Houston (highly unlikely) lets hope that he goes to the Celtics and stays away from G.S. Then we can pick up the option on Parsons contract and wait and see for the summer of 2015 (assuming Lebron opts back in with MIA)

That's a good question. But obviously he doesn't mind per the rumor that Chicago is an option. If he wants to win championship, he'd better not run away from defensive minded coaches like Thib.

I think it's possible that Melo makes his final decision (or weighs his final options atleast) based on who we hire as our assistant.

I don't like this signing at all. Harden, Howard, and Anthony are three ball-dominant players. There will be ZERO ball movement with them playing together. Plus Anthony is a head case like Harden. He could go off on some nights and on some nights, he could just sulk and not give a damn.

Plus out of the three, Howard is the only one with a lick of defense.

I'd rather go after Bosh if he opts out.

No thanks. Bosh seems like the kind of guy that will just coast out the rest of his NBA career. Just my opinion though.
