Right now, Spain looks about as bad as Cameroon and Uruguay have so far. Besides a few chances here and there, it feels like there's no plan in place when they have the ball. It's just a lot of back-passes and attempts over the top. They can't even get a clean shot on goal.
hold the judgments on uruguay. they played the first game without suarez who is going to be back against england this thursday.
Time to clean out the old guard for Spain. I don't see Del Bosque being fired, he just came off one of the greatest international runs of any nation. What he will need to do is convince the management that he will start playing the youngsters and bench all of the veterans.
Humiliating day for all Spaniards.. Because the talent was all there , just not used. Loyalty to old farts as the downfall seems pretty obvious to me -- a casual fan
Wow. What a sad performance by the defending champions. They just looked like they didn't want to be there and now they, for all intents and purposes, they are gone.
It seems all the haters of Tiki-Taka came out in force today.. Must be hard for some of you holding it for this past 6 years or so!! Like I said Spain falls and rises with Barca. Del Bosque will be fired of that I'm sure.
I'll say this much about Spain. Yes, they are a great team n will go down in history. However, they were incredibly fortunate that their golden generation peaked just as every other superpower's was on a decline and was rebuilding. Spain's run from O8-12 had only 1 other team at their best, Germany. Compare to 2006, where France, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Argentina, and even England all were at the peak of their "Golden" generations.
Well, you're the CHAMP, you can't go out before the playoffs start, can you? You deserve to be "hated" if you want to call it that. Can we at least just LAUGH at them?
