Not sure how legit the claim is that it was bottled on Venus, but it's a pretty tasty pale ale. More info: http://garageproject.co.nz/ 7/24 - VPA (Venusian Pale Ale) Venusian Pale Ale, a precocious little number using some of the more unusual local flora and fauna you find hanging around here in the less civilized parts of the solar system. Lemon grass, kaffir lime leaf and grapefruit peel that we pinched from rations, meld seamlessly with Venusian Spear Fungus and that funny green stuff the local chappies seem to like licking off the rocks. Zesty is the word that springs to mind and at 7.3% abv it’s bloody good for morale. Incidentally, it works just like napalm on the natives, which is handy.
What do people think of St. Arnold 20th anniversary? Drinking it now and it taste pretty much like Fireman's 4. I am disappointed. But had some Abita Andygator the other day. Probably one of the best beers I've ever had. Smooth as hell.
Nothing like firemans 4 (which is total crap IMO). It's a completely different style That being said, I was also disappointed. It's fine, nothibg special. Picked up 2, probably won't get anymore. DR14 was better
i loved it. really want to let one age in the fridge for a few months. i had never tried a barley wine. andygator is one of my favorite beers...but it's game over once it gets room temp. one of those beers that HAS to be ice cold. even better when it's mixed with tap abita strawberry
Victory is really good, IMo. Recently had- St. Arnold 20th Anniversay Ale- not bad, but they have better Lagunitas- Nighttime- very good black IPA
Pedernales Hefeweizen - Little light, though more fruity than you expect from the color. Not really citrusy though. Overall, a decent hefeweizen. First one surprised a bit, but it grows on you quickly.
Cool, that's enough for me. I'll try it out. Also, I found a 12 pack of Shiner Cheer last night. Gonna be a fun weekend.
Every beer I've tried from Karbach has been fantastic. I haven't tried the wheat one but I loathe wheat beers in general. Karbach simply blows Saint Arnold's away, it's not even close for an IPA or Lager lover. We're planning on taking a tour of the brewery soon.
Noob here but do y'all like literally think these beers taste good, or do they just not taste like complete crap? Cause I have never had a beer that I could honestly say tasted good.
I just spent 10 days in the BVI and was stuck with Carib, Presidente or Red Stripe. Yes, I can honestly say I LOVE the taste of a cool IPA in a room temp glass over the mass produced junk I used to drink. Now those taste like complete ass.
To me, the only area where Saint Arnolds has an advantage is the double IPA. Endeavor is much better than Rodeo Clown.
