Even if there was something to see, and some merit to this story.. Is there any possible way of getting both of them? like any way we could even afford them both?
So according to WINDHORST LeBron is not a good fit in Houston because LeBron does not want to play with a "ball dominant guard." What was Dwyane Wade before Lebron got there? How come Wade and Bosh can sacrifice some of their game but all of a sudden Harden and Howard can't? I don't buy this talk. How is Howard not a match with LeBron? Rockets have a tailor made roster for Lebron, but these sportswriters just keep making up lame excuses to exclude Houston from the mix.
I have my doubts about Harden being happy to sacrifice his game for Lebron. He looked pretty unhappy during the playoff games when Dwight was getting the ball. That said, apparently Wade wasn't happy about it either. There was a lot of talk about the pain they went through playing together, and Spo made sure to give Wade minutes where he was on the floor without Lebron to dominate the ball. Great players want touches. There is nothing wrong with that.
In general I like Windhorst, and I think he has a pretty good handle on the Lebron stuff. But the reasons to dismiss Houston as a fit seem pretty lame. To me it is all about Lebron's perception in the media if he leaves another team. He doesn't want that backlash. Miami is going to have to burn some bridges with Lebron for him to break that inertia. I wouldn't be surprised if Lebron gave Miami "1 more year" to fix the roster and if they don't he can explore FA in 2015.
If Lebron does not want to play with a ball dominant guard, you trade the ball dominant guard for Kevin Love.
I just don't know why he would want to do that because there's no way they are getting any better if they all opt in to their deals. If he sticks around in Miami then it's pretty clear that his motivation is loyalty to his friends and not winning. That's not a bad thing, I just don't know if that's the case. His legacy is on the line and he'll be judged (wrongly so IMO) by how many championship teams he's on and the media will look at less than 5 as a failure ridiculous as that sounds.
Don't wet your panties Carl Herrera Patterson, Harden isn't going anywhere. We should be worried though. If we don't get rid our ball dominant guard, Lebron might go sign somewhere without one like Chicago or the Clippers. Wait...
Lol. Priceless. I have yet to hear a valid reason as to why LeBron wouldn't sign in Houston (assuming he would consider Houston to begin with). We're younger (way younger than the Heat), arguably more talented with better role players, and have the best strip clubs around... what more could you ask for?
I find it hilarious. Where would LeBorn want to go? LOL. Windhorst is inferring staying with the worst option of all "ball-diminant guards"(D-Wade) is what's best?
How is Harden more ball dominant than Wade was? And Harden has played with other ball dominant players before, something that Wade had never done. I really doubt Harden being here is anything but a huge plus in LeBron's eyes.
Lebron+Bosh for Harden+Asik+Jones. Maybe Lebron is fine with ball dominant guards, but not ball dominant guards who gives no effort on defense. Maybe Lebron trusted DWade to play like a champion but does not respect Harden enough to trust that he would do the same. Maybe Lebron, like Kevin Love, sees Harden's true face.
What was Dwayne Wade considered back in 2012? A spot up shooter? How did Mario Chalmers work out for you Lebron? Windhorst's report might have some truth to it, but its probably most likely directed on ball dominant guard in particular he's referring to. Could be Rose... Could be Irving... Could be Harden....Could be Kobe... But I think its ignorant to think that Lebron is opposed to playing with another great player who just so happens to be a guard. Because great guards typically tend to be ball dominant 99% of the time regardless. However, my point from earlier remains the same. If Lebron doesn't want to play with Harden then what's the point of even being interested in Houston? Harden is the primary lure of playing in Houston in first place if there truly is one... he's the face of the franchise (despite what the trolls think/want). He wouldn't be coming to Houston for the Tex Mex and Kemah Boardwalk... He's either coming to play with Harden or he's not coming to Houston period. He can team up with Melo & another center that wont take away more of his touches elsewhere. Hell... if he is opposed to a ball dominant guard, and wants to play with Melo & top center... then why isn't New York talked about? I'm slightly calling BS on this report. I think this is directly related to not wanting to play alongside one guard in particular. Maybe that's Harden, but its more likely to not be Harden than to be Harden since there are so many other ball dominant guards in the league to choose from pointing fingers at. We will soon find out how interested Lebron is with Houston or not, and I think that will tell us alot more about Lebron's feelings for Houston/Harden.
It is similar to the Dwight Howard situation, it seems like everyone's initial reaction is to say "no, won't happen" even though no one has a legit reason why it wouldn't happen. It's almost too obvious actually, yet that won't stop people from doubting.
