The way that Melisandre looked at Jon Snow in the season finale tells me there is something to be revealed. She believes Stannis to be the reincarnation of the Light Bringer or whatever his name is, maybe she is doubting it. Or she simply shes another Gendry to try and be sacrificed.

It really depends on much Arya knows about the Frays and Boltons treachery, but they are a good target (even for other reasons). However, I think Ayra has realized her best bet it to become someone dangerous, like a faceless man, so she took the opportunity to do so when the captain said he was sailing for Bravos.

Loved that last scene when she presented the coin to the captain, all I could think of is Ayra the Assassin.

In situations like this, it's best to assume Stannis (like most Lords) have a network a information gathering that tipped him to this. I assume he didn't want the uncertainty of the Wildlings. However, him defeating the Wildlings doesn't mean they won't end up fighting the White Walkers together.

Totally agreed. That GOT theme music is awesome. I get so excited when the music comes on with the spinning crowns/Sauren's eye. Seen it dozens of times and still get excited. The alt version at the end was very soothing and gives the chills. Sounded like an Olympics song with children singing. Just beautifully caps off a very fulfilling season.

It's mostly the first half of the statement about your uber sensitivity for not being able to feel special in a thread where most people haven't read the books.

I'm not going to look into your posts for the second, so I'll retract that part.

Yea those *faux rage* posts are the worst, they truly add nothing to the conversation and are just annoying which is sad because pollos was a good poster in the breaking bad discussions.

Does anybody know somewhere I can read (or maybe a youtube series) a good story about the backstory of the show. I have read some stuff on robert's rebellion but am really interested in having something to fill my time during this break.

And I will pass on reading the books until the show is complete.

Not feeling special where most haven't read the books? Scroll back to the last page and see what I wrote about book 4. I said it was a pile of crap and nobody should waste their time reading it---a clear response from someone that feels arrogant about reading a book over a show

Regarding me making those sarcastic comments, the place is oversensitive to spoilers (probably due to some obnoxious turds like relentless), which most people acknowledge, so I was just poking fun at the situation. If it annoys people, like it did you, I will stop. Simple as that.

Search youtube for "Complete history of westeros."

You can watch the history videos that were released with the show on DVD/Blu Ray. No spoilers, lots of great backstory.

No problem. They are awesome. Really well done. The actors voice them. There's even one where Varys and Littlefinger co-narrate the story. Some of them are told from one perspective and then switch to another side (Say Tywin Lannister and then Robb Stark or something) to tell the same story through different perspectives.

    Really awesome stuff.

I'm sorry about the sarcastic posts, there were just so many people crying spoiler over small things that I thought it would be ok to make fun of it. It wasn't my intention to be annoying, but I can see how they can be seen as such

Regarding your 2nd question, this seems to be based purely off the show. http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Game_of_Thrones_Wiki

I haven't scanned every single corner of the site but there doesn't seem to be any spoilers as it only documents what has already happened on the show (not the books).

It's more about the 'not feeling wanted in here' bit then poking at the oversensitivity in here.

It's usually not a cool feeling going to this thread Sunday night or the day after knowing that I have to scan the posts rather than read it because it only takes a few people not to show restraint. Those jokes bog down the topic and reinforce that uneasy feeling.

I wouldn't feel it's worth visiting this thread if the show weren't so awesome, so maybe coming back knowing that makes me surlier than usual. Or when I visit on a wednesday and see replies of some ninja posters writing more than they should have.

I generally hate confrontation, so in hindsight, I should've confronted your posts then instead of calling you out indirectly.

Thats fine, I understand. I just didn't like being accused of secretly spoiling stuff when I did nothing of the kind and have been extremely careful in making sure that I don't.

Speaking of that: how did you guys interpret the final scene with her and the hound? She obviously couldn't have had any hatred left over for him at that point, so why the absence of emotion?

I interpreted it as her just having become emotionally hardened from all the death and leaving of her family, friends, mentors, and protectors, that she'd just had enough already, with the hound being the final straw.

And after that she was like "eff this, i'll make a go of it as a lone wolf" (no pun intended).

I don't think so. First, she wanted to go to the wall where her last known surviving relative was.

I think she genuinely has malice for The Hound still and when she saw him dying, asking for a mercy kill she looked at him and saw that he was weak and was going to die and she chose to let him suffer.

On another point, I don't get why the Hound and Arya wouldn't still go through the Bloody Gate just because her aunt was dead. Her cousin would inherit the lordship of the Vale, would he not be willing to pay for her? We learned from Sansa that some lords of the Vale had gone to Winterfell because she had met them. I don't get why the Hound wouldn't have still tried.

I thought when they were in the pub/restaurant/whatever it's called in that world, and the Hound said "F the king", and she smirked, that was the definitive turning point in their relationship, and she knew he was one of the good guys. And he just put his life on the line for her in the fight with Brienne.

I assumed there was a large degree of implied forgiveness at that point.

I thought maybe the guards wouldn't let them pass but yea I thought they'd go through .

The scene with the Hound suffering I think just showed how cold blooded she had become . We as viewers had grown to like him and it almost seemed as though he was becoming a sort of mentor to her but she hadn't forgot .

I kind of thought that way but when you think about it the Hound was doing everything out of selfish reasons ... She was still a hostage and his ultimate goal was to sell her to someone

He was, but at the same time I think he was honest when he told Brienne he was looking out for her.

That whole scene with Brienne was awesome when The Hound pointed out that Arya wouldn't be safe anywhere and that he was the only one left to take care of her.

He had taken care of her sister as well and shown genuine affection even though he played it off when she thanked him for it.

He's not a "good guy" but I think he does really care for Arya in some way, same as her sister. He wasn't going to let anything bad happen to her.

Another thing that doesn't make sense to me though. If Arya was going to ask the ship captain to take her to the wall, why didn't she ask Brienne to do it?
