Even a little more than the games, I look forward to the player lineup graphic. I love seeing how each player folds their arms and looks to the camera.
What happened to good players y'all had that we saw in 2006 like Madavikia and a couple more we played against? At least y'all scored ONE on us that year! It's silly. I'm waiting for one of them to say "Player Name... The U." :grin:
Most of those guys are older and not the same anymore. Madavikia, Karimi, etc. Queoriz did a good job going out and brining in Iranian talent from Europe to play on the national side but it was met with a lot of head butting. The problems with our team are so political and stupid. With as much money as the country has from oil they spend nothing on grooming the teams and giving them the best to work with and that's one of the reasons the coach is leaving. He can't keep fighting the government to give them what they need to succeed. On top of that the team didn't get much time to gel before the world cup because the country was more worried about the asia professional cup or whatever and didn't release some of their players and forced them to play for their club. They didn't even do that well in it so it was no point.
Even though it was a scoreless and boring game...I will happily take a tie against Nigeria. Going to be tough to come out of the group though, Bosnia looked pretty good against Argentina. Iran will most likely have to beat BIH if it wants to advance...and that looks very doubtful at the moment. I just hope Iran doesnt lose worse than 3-0 against Argentina.
