each game was decided by 1 point, if that was a playoff series, i'd consider them the most unlucky team in nba history.

Trade Harden for Love. Send Love and Dwight to recruit Lebron.

    Dwight-Love-Lebron-Parsons-Beverley = Title.

too much common sense in this post. Moreytards wouldn't approve.

Also, for the other poster that keeps insisting RS = PS, the thunder swept the spurs in the RS too.

    Step 1) Fire Kevin McHale.

Step 2) Hire a competent head coach.

Step 3) Stop obsessing over acquiring additional superstars and spend your remaining cap space on quality role players to compliment Harden and Howard.

The secret to the Spurs winning another championship isn't just players, coaching, and management. Take a look at their payroll. Look at what Duncan and Parker are earning. They don't just spread out their offense, they spread out their paychecks, and that is absolutely a key to their success.

Step 1. Sweep them in a season series
Step 2. Don't suck in the first round
Step 3. Sweep them in the second round.
    Step 4. Polish trophy

As we saw in the playoffs, playing this stupid one on one playground offense IS NOT going to work. I'm not saying we have to be the Spurs, but good lord please run a damn offense with structure. How is someone as smart as Morey content with the offense we run?

Play/beat the Spurs in the playoffs?

That usually requires playing beyond the first round; not something the Rockets often do. :p

    McHale is Pops kryptonite.
My homerism meter said we would of beat SA if we hadn't faltered to Portland.

    Dwight Howard.

Seriously, how do the Spurs counter a dominant big man? Duncan is too old for the increased physicality found in the playoffs, and playing Tiago Splitter, who is by no means an elite post defender, will greatly diminish their offensive output.

The Spurs were able to bring Ibaka out of the paint with Diaw. They cannot do that with Howard. Bring them on.

While their ball-movement is legendary, the best eraser of great ball-movement is to shut down the paint, Howard's specialty, and something that none of the SA playoff opponents could do at a high level. Like I said previously, Ibaka was hurt, and then had to shadow Diaw on the perimeter.

I'm most worried by the LA Clippers TBH. They dominated us when we were at full strength and playing our best ball. Their athletic front line to go along with CP3 and the shooters they have make them a really tough out.

Even if we can somehow acquire Melo and Love, we wouldn't be able to beat the Spurs if Mchale is still the head coach.

Same way we swept them during the regular season.

And we've never lost to the Spurs in the playoffs... ever.

If only we would have built around Ryan Bowen, Chuck Hayes or maybe PPat everything would have been different.

Posts like this act as if we had a Duncan to build around for the last 15+ years and we just decided not to.

Our stars crapped out on us with injuries. What in ****s sake were we supposed to do after that? Build around inferior players, continually picking in the draft in a spot it's impossible to get a Duncan?
