the finals showed me you have no chance if you ca't play defense.

forget ball movement and all the other stuff.

the rockets first have to start playing defense.

+1. The series changed when Leonard started playing well. Without Leonard, the Spurs are a completely different team b/c their perimeter defense would be weaksauce.

Duncan and Leonard are their 2 most important players.

Were the Mavericks really the 2nd best team coming into the post season? Or were the Spurs just warming up? Are the Rockets really the worst team in the post season or, does it come down to coaching?

That's a bad metric though, it doesn't really take into effect all the variables of a regular season game.

While he could be a invaluable player for that team, it doesn't make him a max contract player. Along the likes of guys like Lebron, CP3, Blake, Durant, Westbrook...etc etc...

NOW there are plenty of Max guys who don't deserve the money as well so there is that too.

But not considering the money, is he a ALL NBAer every year All-star player? I guess we'll see, I'm just not ready to anoint him yet I guess but he'll get the money though I think.

I actually don't like asking if guys are max contract or not, because sometimes th market dictates that a guy is worth the price even when he doesn't deserve it.

I don't disagree, but I don't exactly agree, either. It's a lot easier to win back-to-backs since the roster isn't as fluid, and you've only aged a year. And if hardly anyone leaves the team , the chemistry is still there. Kobe had Shaq, would be an argument against you, but a 3-peat is really impressive, regardless.

However, I think it's harder to win 5 titles in 15 years while you're still one of the main stars (no Darko / Horry situation), so I think Duncan's longevity is the defining factor, when putting him up against Kobe.

That's not to say Kobe won't win another ring again, before he retires. But he's staying with the Lakers for at least another year (2?) and that team isn't going anywhere. Especially not in the west.

I'm sorry but the last series when the Spurs lost and I did watch that series the Spurs sold it. Ginobili making the dumbest passes I have ever seen in basketball. You can't fool me. Lebron quitting because of a cramp. LOL

If nobody gets traded or released on the Spurs i think they'll make to the finals again next year.

i think kawhi is a great player but be careful of giving a guy who really isn't a scorer max money.

Every game is it's own story though...

If the Spurs played like they did those first two games they would not have won the series. They turned it up, x10.

I don't see the Spurs doing the same thing again next year though. They've never won a back to back. Too many factors, too many variables.

If you think Pippen has defended his title 4 times then I will respect your opinion.

sorry but they did turn it up in the 1st game, making 18 out of 20 shots in the 4th quarter when it mattered. Spurs had the lead in 2nd game but choked it
