Dirt on the NBA being racist towards Yao Ming would not surprise me one bit. Not sure about anything else that could come out

 

Yao Ming was access to a billion new fans. He was generally well liked and respected since the time of his Olympic performances. Do you have a story or was this a troll?

This might end up just being gossip column stuff. It's not like politicians who can be taken down with embarrassing info or ethics violations. Private sector billionaires are pretty impervious

It would take a betting scandal to hurt the league and they've already survived one with little to no harm

 

I do not have a story and not trolling. I just would not be surprised since referees treated him like crap, not just in the 2005 series but overall gave him no respect. The guy would get hit, beat up and even held and nothing would be called.

 

So is shaq, Lebron, wilt, etc. When you are bigger/ faster/ stronger than everyone else they have to let some stuff go.

 

Dwight Howard got hit way worse and more maliciously than Yao by far (YOFs would never admit that at the time). It was so bad I thought he was going to eventually blow up and hit somebody.

I'm not minimizing how much Yao got hit because it was truly ridiculous, but racism wasn't the reason refs didn't give him enough respect. It's a big man issue.

 

Whats the deal with all of that? Was there some position not filled last year?

 

the press release is confusing.

they don't attribute anyone to the quote, they introduce Dave and Gary without explaining who they are, and then they speak of some Wohl character that has not been introduced yet either.

 

Gary Sacks was the Clippers GM who has been moved up and Whol whomever he is, is now the Clippers GM

Beyond that things are confusing as heck here. Was this an internal memo
