I could see it except Ariza, he's never coming back. Also, NY would probably want their own 2nd round pick we own back.

A couple of reasons that trade might not work.

Parsons, Lin, Asik and Jones salaries would be around 6 million more then Carmelo's, and they are already around 20 million over the tax line. Also they don't want any contracts going past 2015 (when literally EVERYBODY will expire for them). So they probably wouldn't want Parsons on a 10 mill 3-4 year contract.

We could also just outright sign Melo if the knick's try to force us to trade Parsons. It's not worth it.

    P.G. - Beverley / Canaan
    S.G. - Harden / Daniels
    S.F. - Parsons / Covington
    P.F. - Anthony / Jones
    ..C. - Howard / MLE?

Crazy reading comprehension issues in this thread.

The rumors clearly state the rockets are keeping Parsons, Bev and TJones ... Their "core" along with Harden and Howard.

If we do sign Melo, might make sense to move Jones for a defensive PF backup though.

    Don't want!!

Ball movement and defense on this squad is already questionable.. Melo helps neither. Don't like his age or leadership either. Wait for KD next summer.

That's right morey, make sure he's 100% & bring him here too, that man has been committed to working out since their season ended, was 3rd best defender at the 2 this year and wasn't even 100. He has a chip on his shoulder and is hungry, him and bev holding the PG and best 2-3 will be a headache !

This is what morey has said we need to upgrade this summer DEFENSE. He blamed that on our lost to Portland. Stick to the plan

Ariza isn't coming here to play backup and he will get around 9/10mil per year.

If we could time warp this thread back to the summer of 2012 and ask clutchfans what they would think about the Rockets potentially having James Harden, Dwight Howard, and Carmelo Anthony on the team, I wonder what their responses would be?

At some point, you have to kind of step back and see that tripling up 3 of the top-15 to 20 players in the NBA can't possibly be bad.

Very well put. I can't believe this has to be explained. Sure Melo isn't a perfect fit but when you are that talented fit is secondary.

Our window for signing Durant outright slams shut the second we extend Parsons. The only chance we have is to do a signing just before Parsons comes on.

And make no mistake, without the threat of an outright signing (see Miami vs Cleveland and Toronto 3yrs ago) there is going to be NO shot at a sign and trade with OKC.

As much as I would love to reunite Durant and Harden, the logistics are too difficult to throw away the 2015 season, as well as Chandler Parsons, to try to do it.

Just like the Lakers last year. They said they weren't worried, yet before free agency they put billboards of Howard with #STAYD12. Would not be surprised if Knicks do something similar i.e. Maybe something with Time Square.
