It's Lebron and it's not even close. He averaged 6+ assists with the Cavs. Put Diaw in there, he would be lucky to get to 3
You realize its a product of the system right? Diaw isn't bad, he's a pretty good passer, but the system is going to make everyone on that team look like mini Magic.
What's the point though? Lebron is the better player...I mean Curry is a better shooter than Lebron but Lebron is still the best player in the world. Yeah some guys that specialize in one ability is going to be better at him in that one abliity, but he's still all around a terrific player with little flaw to his game.
The point is LeBron nuthuggers (to coin a phrase) like to say LeBron is a better passer than Larry Bird, which is laughable. Diaw is a better passer than LeBron. So is Webber, Divac and Miller. And Walton and Sabonis...and the list goes on for non-guards better than LeBron. He is not the second best passer ever, next to Magic. It's like so laughable the Lebron fans actually believe that. But, you're right. He may very well go down as the second best player ever.
LeBron is the more flashier passer. Even if a regular bounce pass would work, he would do something flashier like a left handed pocket pass. Diaw, while flashy in his own right, tend to do the 'right' pass more often than now. When he does do more flashy passes, its on par with some of the very best though. Its preference. Do you consider the extremely flashy passes that get people off their seats indicative to the passing ability of a player or whether the player makes the right pass?
I disagree with you about Miller, but agree with the others. The Kings of the Webber/Divac era were so great to watch and a great change of pace from all the iso-ball Rockets fans were getting from Francis and Mobley.
Diaw from the post but lebron overall. Even if it was Diaw that doesn't take away from lebron's passing skills. Diaw came in the league as a pg
