I suspect the same cry babies complaining about missing out on players be it Leonard or Rudy Gay like to drive past their ex-girlfriends houses when they get drunk.

    A bunch of pathetic babies.

Agreed. Anyone remember the last time the Clippers were good.
    Before Griffin and Paul
Well . .they had two former rockets on that team Sam Cassell and Cuttino Mobley

I remember an article about the culture
They were practicing . .. and the players rushed for water
Sam and Cuttino didn't. They shot free throws
Little by Little . .. none of the players ran for water any more
They all were shooting free throws . . ..

That year was their best year before Griffin and Paul

We need that type of leadership

If you are upset that people are complaining on a basketball forum, you're in the wrong place, that's like being upset that people in Mcdonalds eat french fries. Newsflash! It's a forum. The very definition of Forum is a place to gather to debate and air grievances.

Not complaining about the prediction more like Cxbby looking clueless. He got offended when I simply said Garcia > Casspi and started attacking me personally for it.

I would add that we cannot be certain Leonard would be the same player here. He walked into the perfect situation in San Antonio. They have probably the best team culture in professional basketball right now.

Our team culture is definitely on the right path - but nowhere near what San Antonio has built yet.

Leonard walked into a situation where he is with a team that knows what it takes to bring home trophies. He has seen the work ethic of Duncan, Manu and Parker every day. He has been coached by one of the best in the league. And because he plays in a one sport town, they don't have fans, they have fanatics.

He may well have shined anywhere, but we don't know that for certain. And we never will.

Bad pick by Morey in retrospect. Morey and Rockets staff were shooting for the sky hoping to get a perennial all/star / superstar player. Morris was seen as Melo lite while Kawhi as Bruce Bowen light?

Leonard was always the safe bet and would fit in well to an already established team with stars and 90% Morey would have drafted Leonard ahead of Morris with the cast the Rockets have today.

Morey saw Morris as the bigger top end potential and went for the gamble which failed.

Objective assessment of the team and it's decisions is now "disloyal" to you people.

However, as bad as that pick was, at least we got something in return.

OTOH, McHale the clueless, incompetent loser head coach who is an embarassment to Rockets picked Royce Be Well White, one of the worst first round picks of all time.

Do I get credit for being against Casspi from the beginning or was that not ballsy enough to deserve mention?

How can you claim to be objective when you're blatantly ignoring the Eddie Griffin draft-day trade?

We could have had Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins. The team would have been fabulous.

The big mistake was picking the wrong twin. Morey must have mixed up the two brothers.

Too bad Phoenix didn't when they picked one spot ahead of us.

The Eddie Griffin trade was so long ago. I think it was 2001 or 2002 when we traded three picks for him.

I know I was pretty upset when I heard they traded several draft picks to move up to the 9th spot. I thought we would be better with the relatively high 3 draft picks that we gave up. At least one of the picks had to turn into ta good player.

Any long time Rockets fan will remember that trade with disgust. I know I wanted to vomit when the trade was announced.

When we drafted Eddie Griffin, it was a time period when the NBA was going really young. Drafting high-schooler's and college freshmen was in vogue. The thinking was that you needed to draft young, because if you draft a guy that was a junior or senior coming out of college, he was not that talented. It was implied that if a guy waited until he was a junior or senior to declare himself for the draft, the player was not as talented and did not have the talent to be an all star. Thus, if you wanted an all-star, you needed to draft young and wait for the player to develop.

The other thing that you need to remember was that Carrol Dawson was running the front office. While he was really good at developing players, he was really horrible at drafting players. We got lucky with Cuttino Mobley and Michael Dickerson as they turned out to be really good players, we drafted allot of bad players and signed several players to over-inflated contracts during this time period.

I am glad the Carrol Dawson era is behind us. Daryl Morey is running the show now, and while we have drafted a couple of duds, and the signed a couple of duds, we have drafted more good players, had better trades, and with the exception of Jeremy Lin, have done a better job of signing players to contracts that accurately reflects a players contribution.
