The Socceroos are really making a match of this. They are attacking, and forcing Chile to keep men back. This could easily be a 2-2 game right now.

When Tim Cahill gets a chance to go up for a ball, he's downright scary. It's a near-goal every single time.

Lol, not sure which game you were watching.. Everyone played bad even Silva... Lost countless number of balls, He missed a 1on 1 With the keeper in first half. Could have been 2:0, right after RVP scored and everything changed after that. But yah Silva is from Man. City so...

Chile almost paid a price for being complacent.. Group is up for grabs now.

The Dutch played an awesome game but don't crown them as champs yet.. They have an extremely young squad and just like they had an awesome game today they might have an awful game just the same. They made a huge leap forwards tho, pretty much avoiding Brazil now in the second round.

In the first half Silva was out there trying to be aggressive while the rest of Spain sat around with thumbs up their asses. Missed a couple of passes maybe but definitely played better than Xavi who was nothing.

Dear God, that Chile game was tough to watch. After the first 20 minutes, we became way too complacent. Idk what happened to our guys, but we didn't do the things that normally characterize our game: high press, constant overlaps, or good quality possession. Alexis was also too inconsistent.

But props to Australia, they knew that our defense is extremely small and took advantage of that. Thank God that Claudio Bravo had that great save against Bresciano.

6 years ago, Netherlands beat World Cup champs Italy in their opening game of Euro 2008 3-0. That Netherlands had a core of Robben, Van Persie, and Sneijder back then too. The next game they beat World Cup runner-ups France 4-1.

Then they fizzled out, losing early in the knockout stages.

Netherlands in recent times has a history of destroying teams who become old/complacent. This time around though, I want to see them take their great start and actually advance far again. I don't want a repeat of Euro 2008.

As far as today goes though...

Robben has been my favorite player since I was a teenager. I was thrilled today.

The first Robben goal was amazing -- it reminded me of Dennis Bergkamp's famous goal in the '98 world cup
