It's not 2k but it is the nba. We got the best big man in the middle with two superstar level scorers around him. It's not hard to see.

I agree with you, but I see where Hmm is coming from. Harden and Melo would be an improved version of Hedo and Lewis from Dwight's Orlando days.

It all ultimately would fall on the coaching staff to make it work. that is the part where I am lacking a bit of faith.

Getting Carmelo would be great, but honestly I'd be happy with a few solid role players. I'm not sure how effective Melo/Harden would be without the ball in their hands as much. I'm guessing Melo would become the primary ball handler but Harden has much better court vision and creates more for others. Which would essentially make Melo a spot up guy and idk how effective he is playing off the ball.

Carmelo actually plays pretty well against the Spurs. But SA has usually had more talent paired with better coaching.

A lot of people that don't understand basketball in here. One of the league's 3 best scorers and a top-flight rebounding SF is EXACTLY the kind of player we want. But hey, keep telling yourselves that beating OKC, SAS and even Portland can be accomplished by adding role players...

We can only play so well on offense. We still won't be able to stop anybody.

Melo is a bigger version of Harden. We aren't a poor offensive team. Why do we want another scorer who holds the ball a lot?

Just ADDING another superstar wont solve our problems, Its all about fit....

The last thing we need is to tempt Mchale with more isolation plays, we need more unselfish role players who can play defense and potentially guard the other teams best man.

Melo is the Superstar we deserve, but not the one we need right now...

That's not what in my mind when I see the title of this thread. I thought how could we plug the defensive holes in the starting lineup.

Crushed because our title hopes with this squad would already be erased.

I'd be ecstatic. If he plays the 4, we don't get worse defensively, but get a lot better offensively. Nothing else changes. Even if he were somehow slightly worse than Jones defensively, he's so much better offensively that it's well worth it.

Plus, you then get better cheap FA's by virtue of having such a talented roster. I agree that we would need a defensive 3 though. Parsons is going to want to fit in, like he did this last season, and he's not going to focus on defense. As long as we have Harden, we need a defensive 3 and I think we need to sell high on Chandler Parsons unless he commits to becoming more focused on the defensive end and rebounding. He's going to really have to spend his time chasing down high scoring guard/forwards.

Not worried about McHale. He's made mistakes, but overall I've been happy with his performance and I think he will improve again.

Once concern I have about Melo is his weight. He seem like a guy that puts on weight easily. We would have to watch that in order to protect our investment.

They probably said the same thing about DH when he was in Orlando. DH is a great teammate.

Melo is no cancer but he may not be the best fit in Houston with him needing the ball as much as Harden and the need for a better defender than Melo is.

When Carmelo was on the Nuggets and the Nuggets were winning in the playoffs, it was in-spite of Carmelo and because of Chauncey Billups.

When Carmelo was on the Knick's and the Knick's were winning, it was in-spite of Carmelo and because of guys like Tyson Chandler, Amare Stoudemire and Jeremy Lin.

Carmelo is a high volume, low efficiency scorer. Granted, Carmelo puts up allot of points, but it is fool's gold. Why is Carmelo fool's gold? While, Carmelo will help you beat the lower quality and middle of the road teams, he really does not help a team win against higher quality teams. In the playoff's, your only playing against the higher quality teams and not against run of the mill teams.

I want a guy that helps you win the regular season and the playoff's. I would rather spend money on a Paul Millsap or Kyle Lowry type of player.

The other reason is that Carmelo is a Cancer. He had that reputation in Denver, and it followed him in New York. The fact that Carmelo is a cancer is reflected by the Knick's performance after he came back from injury when the Knicks were winning during the Linsanity frenzy.
