If the Rockets signed Melo, would you still want Parsons?

If Rockets sign Melo, would you want Parsons to remain?

  1. Yes, Parsons is still a great role player.

  2. No. Wouldn't want to pay a 4th option that much, and Melo can't defend 4's.

I know it isn't Melo. That dude isn't better defensively than what we already have and it's not like the team will score that many more points by adding him. But as long as McHale is coaching and Morey is making the offensive scheme with his calculator _ it doesn't matter who they get...

So you don't actually want to talk basketball, or propose worthwhile ideas, you just want to complain.

    Got it.

If it turns into a shooting contest, who do you think beats Melo?

The reality is Melo is better than all the guys you mentioned, which will force them to move to the 5, creating a huge mismatch for Dwight in the post.

if we signed Melo there is not enough ball to share between Melo, Haren, Howard, and Parsons
unless you think Melo, Haren, and Howard can accept lesser role like Parker, Ginobili, and Duncan

Right now Melo is the best option at the four who is available.

You shat on that idea. Then when specifically asked who is the best option, you dodged the question and whined out about things unrelated to the four spot.

    Here it is again:

    Put up or shut up.

You realize that once we sign Parsons to an extension we no longer have the cap flexibility to add a really siginificant piece, right? The Rockets either get a big target this year and re-sign Parsons, don't get a big target this year and lose Parsons, or sign Parsons this year and never get another significant piece with Harden and Howard in town.

So you are suggesting that we do nothing and keep the exact same roster as last season. No upgrades?

No... I suggested we go after a point guard (Rondo, Kyle, etc) and Deng (or try to trade for Jimmy Butler or someone)... A consistent point guard who can take the ball from Harden and a lock down defender is a bigger need than Melo. And maybe they could pick up Gasol as well if he isn't asking for a boat load of money. Just my opinion. But we are putting the cart before the horse because Melo will have to want to come here 1st.
