This is the weakest Brazil team i have even seen ever since i was born. which is 30 yr ago. They are not dangerous like the media is making them out to be. Favorite my ass.

100% agree, they came out lackluster and got bailed out by the Croatian GK and Ref. They didn't have any fluidity to their game at all in my opinion and even though they had a ton of possession, didn't do much with it and looked on their heals a lot.

I see them getting to the second round of course but after that I don't see much out of them unless they get a ton of breaks.

Disgusting. Every freaking World Cup or Euro we leave a good impression, but drop out in the group stage and I have a feeling it will happen again.

And nobody here blames Pletikosa for those goals, he saved our asses a bunch of times. Unfortunate.

We'll have Mandžukić back, though. Eh, let's keep our heads up.

You should have at least a draw in this game. You think you guys would make a change in goal after that horrible performance?

People are blaming the goalkeeper? He could have done better on the penalty, but trust me, there's little you can do in the first and third goal. He make good saves throughout the game as well.

As for Croatia, did they deserve the tie? I don't know, honestly. It was a serious mistake on their part to park the bus for such a long time. They have the players on their team to be able to go up and actually play attacking soccer. They just chose to go another way and this is what happens. I get that the ref messed up, but Croatia had this game for the taking. Didn't do anything.

And why are people suprised about Brazil's performance!? This team plays like this. They aren't a team that has beautiful Barcelona style soccer. They're effecient. It works for them.

    And Ivica Olic sucked today.

Not a chance. As I said, nobody is blaming Stipe for the loss (ref is the main culprit), and he has too much credit to be benched after one subpar game. And he wasn't that bad, I agree with SexyButIgnorant.
Our backup goalkeeper, Subašić, has had a great season at Monaco, but Pletikosa is a hero in Russia, after serving as Rostov's team captain and leading them to their first trophy in club history by saving two crucial penalties in a row in the Russian Cup final. Even when he struggled with his club form, he was nothing short of spectacular for Croatia. A class player and person.

Hate the Mavs, but love Dirk.

Since we have a couple of Nostradamus here.. I'll leave this gem right here.

Now onto the game, Brazil didn't have a good game but if you think they will only get to the 2nd round you are simply mistaken. Semis at the bare minimum. Croatia is a tough team bad brake for them in this game. I think a fair score would have been 2:1 Brazil. Their competition was never Brazil but Cameroon and Croatia.

They might not be the most talented but they are playing at home where they don't lose. Look at last years confederations cup. They dominated Spain which was the #1 team in the world.

Tie would be ok but 2:1 is ideal given how efficient Brazil's shots were.

I do not think any opening match ended with a 4:0 or 5:0 in recent history.
They will be alright. Third place or finals I guess. Anything else would be a surprise.

Being favorites means nothing they were top contenders in 2006 and 2010 and where did it leave them? (quarterfinals)

I for one give Brazil credit for turning the game when their back was against the wall in an opening match and under pressure.
This was not an easy but a fought out win.

And props to Croatia for being a worthy opponent
