About 400 million viewers watch every match in the World Cup. Only 111.5 million watch the Super Bowl. From wikipedia: In 2014, Super Bowl XLVIII became the most-watched American television program in history with an average audience of 111.5 million viewers FIFA officials expect to exceed a cumulative 26 billion people, an average of approximately 400 million viewers per match. FIFA estimated that around 700 million viewers would watch the World Cup final
Maybe only a fraction of Europeans, other nations watch the Super Bowl which makes it more of a national event.
That's true, but even if the entire US population of 330 million watched the Super Bowl, it still would be less than a WC Group match like Japan vs Ivory Coast, Korea vs Algeria, etc etc.
 can't really fault groups like women, gramps or infants that they might not watch Football. Some of those watch the World Cup though
Does mainland europe have time zones? Right now it's the same time in paris and prague, and london is only an hour behind. That means the latest games ,of which there are not many, will start at 10:30 pm and most will start between 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Where did you get midnight from? but it definitely seems set up for primetime europe television, much to the chagrin of Asia!
Can it get any better that this? World Cup starts US Open NBA Finals NHL Finals I really don't know how you can ask for a better way to spend Father's Day weekend.
I hate neymars diving but he's a special player when his the man of the team . Not like in Barcelona , I see them winning 3-1 ,
I see croatia playing a good game but brazil star power I think will be too much to handle . Neymar will be good since this team is built around him unlike barca . My prediction is a 3-2 brazil wins
I can see jitters from Brazil to open the game, maybe even a 0-0 draw at halftime. Once the second half starts though, I'd expect Brazil to open things up, and pressure the Croatian backline. At the end of it all, I expect Brazil to win 2-0.
Better question is how are they going to compensate for the loss of Mandzukic, their major goalgetter? Jelavic is ok but no Mandzukic.
