Oh boy, not again. The topic of Appel has been covered quite a few times in a few different threads. Most notably in his own thread here.
Rio Ruiz hit a salami already, Conrad Gregor went deep again too, 4 already. If you lack power, just spend a little time in Lancaster.

It will be interesting to see how OKC handles its outfield rotation with Santana, Hoes, Chambers and now Tucker. Even if those guys take turns playing DH, you also have Stassi and Perez sharing catching duties, with Stassi getting his share of DH games, too. There's a ton of good talent still in OKC. Seems like a trade would be prudent pretty soon. They're running out of roster spots for C+ and better prospects.
You left out Wates and even Krauss as guys that can play in the outfield down there. Maybe Tucker gets starts at 1B and DH too.
Yeah, he was likely just using tonight's boxscore. I assume Hoes and Chambers are the odd men out. Make way for the future. Have some fun and send Hoes to SD for Jason Lane and let him take Jerome Williams spot in long relief.
Thanks, yes. Can't believe I left out Wates! I could see Luhnow trying to swap a decent AAA player or two for another team's prospect at a lower level in whom the Astros' scouts see something. I'm not holding my breath on a top prospect, but maybe a decent lottery ticket. That, or deal for a MLB guy to round out the lineup/bullpen.
At 19 scouts project Correa having more power as he gets older based on his body filling out and his swing. Gregor is like 23 already.
Never said he wasn't a stud. Just that he hasn't shown any home run power in the best hitters park in all of baseball.
Cough..hyperbole alert. Correa has 101 ABs in Lancaster. Through Springer's first 100 ABs in the majors...he had what 2 maybe 3 homers. Small sample size and he is still 19 and showing decent power including 2Bs and 3Bs. Early in the season, Lancaster hitters as a whole were not showing power for some unexplained reason (aka wind does affect baseball trajectories at that altitude according to Keith Law). It is a mystery. I suspect Correa's HR production will miraculously go up if he stays in Lancaster.
Excited about Tucker getting the call. Still relatively young and I am guessing the first position player from the 2012 draft by Luhnow? I copied this reply because I was looking at Correa's splits expecting to see some different home/away splits but they are pretty even which is a good sign. What really stood out is his splits against LHP. Not sure if the splits will show up below but he is batting .183/.283/.563 OPS against LHP in 60 AB's vs. .388/.594/1.070 OPS against RHP in 170 AB's. Pretty small sample size but if he is just average so far this season against LHP his numbers would be completely off the charts even more than they are now. I'm not sure what he did last year against LHP but you have to assume he will better or at least as good as he is against RHP soon. Very strange stat to me but hoping someone smarter than me can explain it. Entire Season AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPS vs Left .183 60 9 11 2 2 0 6 8 19 5 0 .279 .283 .563 vs Right .388 170 36 66 14 3 5 48 26 21 15 4 .475 .594 1.070
^^^^^ Just saw Joe Scalfani is in AAA so I guess he is the first position player from 2012 draft to be in AAA for Astros. Excited to see some advanced hitters coming up through the ranks. Hopefully one or two pan out to be solid MLB contributors soon. I see Tucker possibly getting a call up to the show before Santana but maybe not. Tucker will be 24 soon in July so we could wait on Santana to keep improving. I still want to see what Grossman can do with more playing time as I think he can be a valuable player as a 4th or 5th OF eventually.
