When I heard on the radio that the Lakers might be a team where Lebron and Melo would team up, I knew 100% that CyberX would be here suggesting it was possible.

Of course, the Lakers brass thinks it can happen. We're LA after-all!!1!

Lebron was smiling last night in a press conference after the game 3 loss. OBVIOUSLY Lebron is sabotaging the finals so he can go play with Kobe & Melo in LA.

Lebron also isn't happy with the breaks Wade is getting during the season & the burden he has to carry.... So therefore he's going to go to LA where he can play both PG, and the Center position.

Unfortunately for Lebron & the people who are sick of hearing the misguided speculation, I do think this will be a story-line this next month because it keeps half of the basketball world pissing their pants in excitement at the thought of Lebron coming to their team. We are in the middle of the Finals and people are already talking about it. People in the media are going to be too tempted to grab at a storyline for page-clicks from hopeful fans to not harbor on the rumors.

Its like Mike and Mike the other day how they lead the morning show off talking about how crazy it was that people were criticizing Lebron for having cramps, and then spend an entire show taking calls from random fans, and asking loaded debate questions for the entire 2 or so hours. These people know what they are doing to stir rumors and controversy even though they claim to think the rumors are bogus... um you are the one driving the storyline folks.

What they say to the media and what they say behind closed doors are two different things. Morey can't mention a specific player to the media, also because they mention a player's name doesn't mean they are confident in getting him. I want to know what our internal thinking is not the smoke screens they send to the media.

I gotcha. I just thought the end goal to be pretty transparent with what they are doing, but of course the day to day conversations and the names being thrown around could be interesting to know.

I'm sure though that it changes daily, and as Morey has said before about any normal trade deadline... "There are about 100 variations of deals that could be done" going into any deadline.

Since this June (draft night) and July has so many different variables, and you have two fairly complex contracts(Lin & Asik) that have to moved in unison with whatever deal Morey is looking to do, the variations of a deal or deals probably is more than a hundred with who knows how many different players on the board as potential pieces involved in such deal.

I dont know that its really a fair question to ask, but I guess it would be interesting to know whats being talked about right here right now among many others. Still you could drive yourself crazy(which some are already doing) trying to speculate exactly what is going to happen.

LeBron IMO would never play with Kobe. That's just adding another ring to Kobe's resume if they were to win.

Long as they stay in the East, I don't care. Love can go East too.

    The conferences need more balance.

Come on Melo, sign with the Knicks. I mean, you were dumb enough to sign with them so there's probably another good free agent who is too.

If I'm melo I stay in NY, fisher coaching & Phil leading the moves.

He just has to ride it out one more yr until 2015 when they have cap space, rondo, love, lebron etc will all be open to coming to ny, playing in the MSG is as good as it gets and the whole city loves him.

As a rocket fan, I would like him to come to Houston

Kobe is on the books at $23.5M, Sacre at $1M, if they stretch Nash he counts $3.2M (for the next 3 years).

If they use their #7 pick in the first round then that's another $2.4M against the cap. They could trade it away so as to not have any cap hit.

If they did that it leaves 10 open roster slots that would count roughly $500K each so that's another $5M.

That would mean that they had a total of $32.7M committed. The new cap is projected to be $63.5M so that would leave them with $30.8M left is cap space. If you split that between LBJ and Anthony then they'd each get $15.4M first year salaries. They'd then be right at the cap and only have Kobe, Lebron, Anthony and Sacre under contract.

Now if they did go that route then they'll need to fill 8 roster slots just to get to the minimum 12 and they would only have the room exception ($2.7M) and minimum salary to use to fill out the roster.

That's not too likely to happen even if Lebron and Anthony were inclined to play with Kobe. Sounds like a whole lot of wishful thinking from the LA side.

THEN THIS COMES OUT A FEW MINS LATER....

LOVE - One place Love is rumored to be interested is the New York Knicks.

"I think any time you have Phil Jackson involved in any organization you're going to definitely look at it and it's definitely intriguing," Love said. "The Knicks are definitely a place where anybody would like to go."

Love was asked if he could be the best player on a championship team. "I think so," he said.

If Melo opts in, then he's definitely in it for the long haul because next year will be 2013-14 all over again.

I can't blame Melo if he goes to the Heat because i know he wants to win and win a ring.
