I never thought the Tea Party was dead. But this election certainly doesn't prove their strength. Going 2 for 40 or something like that in these last elections doesn't really show how strong they are.
Extremists tend to be motivated voters. Until mainstream Republicans get off their collective arse and vote in primaries, we're going to see more of this. The same problem exists in Texas. Extremists get picked in the GOP primaries because the "tea party" Republicans actually vote, despite being both a minority in the GOP, and a minority in Texas. In general elections, the masses troop down to the polls and vote for whoever is on the ticket for their party, the party in question here being the Republican Party. Result? Extremists in the GOP win, much to the dismay of many mainstream Republicans, who really wouldn't be surprised if they pondered why those people are on the ticket to begin with. I know many mainstream Repubicans. Heck, I'm related to some. Most of them are freaked out about Patrick being the Lt. Governor nominee. In fact, every single one of them that I've talked to are freaked out about Patrick. They see disaster looming. We'll see.
So saying something millions and millions of mainstream people of all political persuasions say on a daily basis....because not being an atheist is extreme! No wonder the far left is mad all the time. It must be awfully lonely.
I know but its practically the most over-used/misused phrase in the english language. -- see every super bowl winner ever. In other words, completely meaningless.
I find it ironic that you get upset about insults and the lack of decorum yet you post stuff like this.
This pretty much the case for politics in America. Only the most motivated / extreme participate in party politics.
He's just proving the oft-proved adage that conservatives are just the most unfunny people in the world.
