Then you take more time to finish.

I've seen athletes in engineering majors and have done fine.

Looks like you're right about the sporting leagues. I've had a hard time finding information addressing it. The closest is a Jesse Ventura vs. Vince McMahon lawsuit where Jesse Ventura was able to secure his claim to residuals. That's "entertainment sports," I haven't found a case for real sports yet.

If I was negotiating a CBA, residuals would be a bargaining chip, even if I don't get it.

I don't think you understand, there are schools that do not let you choose your major. There are athletic programs that will say that choosing a major outside what they recommend will affect your scholarship and stipend. While this is not a universal practice, it does happen a lot. I would love to see someone, anyone, practice 60 hours a week and risk losing their scholarship to pursue a STEM major.

This is hilarious. Who pays for your degree when your scholarships run out because you have outlasted your eligibility? The scholarships rules essentially give you five years to finish, but put you in a program at a pace that takes 8 years to finish. Free education my ass.

You need to get outside of your conservative ideology bubble and resurface to the real world. Hard work and determination aren't always enough when the deck is stacked against you from the start.

Bro there are defined hourly limits that an athlete can practice during a given week. Usually it's around 20 hours during the season, and around 8 during the offseason.

    Educate yourself please.

You both have valid points. Practice limits are on the books, but whether schools and students adhere to them is under question.

    This is from 2009:

These are experiences from Duke and Northwestern - schools with proud academic reputations that barely field football teams, let alone powerhouses.

Thank you sir, you said it before I could. Like I said, break out of the bubble texxx, when the advocates, rule makers and rule violators are all on the same side problems occur. Without the right to band together and collectively bargain players are getting misused and taken advantage of as well. The advocates of the players need to be an impartial third party, not the same party making gobs of money off the players.

Everyone who cares knows this has been a farce.

Not sure people care enough as long as epic games are still being played.

    Day 3: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/2014/06/11/obannon-vs-ncaa-lawsuit-trial-day-3/10325365/

Stanford emeritus economics professor Roger Noll continues to embarass NCAA attorney Rohit Singla.

Former Alabama football star WR Tyrone Prothro gives an account of expectations and every day life for a student athlete, while also conceding value received from his scholarship.

Tyrone Prothro was expected to play in the NFL until he suffered a gruesome injury while wearing an Alabama uniform (you guys can google images on your own). Alabama honored his scholarship and paid a sizable portion of his medical expenses. Pronthro is now an account manager at Coca-Cola and paying off the remainder of his student loans.

The great part about bigtexxx is that you can block him like I do AND pretty much know exactly what he said in his little box of text without ever actually having to read it. It's like a teleprompter pumping out scripts from a Sean Hannity show or something. And if he ever gets attacked it'll likely be a retort on how his attacker is the instigator, or how someone should learn proper English grammar first.

People like a foil. I would consider Texx above average, as he does have some mixins where he agrees a subject is bad (blanket racism is blanketly bad!) and then the groupthinkers, fearing there isn't a debate to be had, still centers the topic to him about some other tangent he's said before...

I just read that the typical fast food eater doesn't like variety and prefers the stable menu of what to expect. So changing the menus is actually a big risk that cuts the bottom line in light of the "more is better" model.

    Garbage in, Garbage out.
