They aren't the first to do it, but hey its an amazing first step. Even with the water resistance (it isn't water proof, they even claim that in the commercials for it) it still feels like it isn't right. I really feel like if I drop it, it will break. It's a damn good phone, I will give you that, and the internals are quite nice.
 If I get one, I will. I don't have any committed to anyone. I'll proudly give the other two away in the oneplus forums, unless my wife decides she wants one.
The LG G3 seems to be very impressive so far. I'll wait on the review because I want to see if that laser focus is legit, and also how that new display REALLY affects battery life. Nice additions are the OIS to the camera, wireless charging built in. I'm kind of glad the back is some type of plastic vs metal. For me and how i handle phones, metal would scratch and dent easily but since it sounds like the back cover comes off for the battery and microSD, it sounds like it's easily replaceable anyway.
The G3 sounds awesome, but ... when does it go on sale anywhere but in South Korea? They didn't announce anything, did they?
So if the Nexus is dead will Google release any new unlocked phone on the Play Store this year? Really love that system of easily buying a solid phone directly. Not to mention at an incredible price.
Best response in that thread... The reality is you are coming from an environment where you’ve been herded into every possible way to perceive a technology. This is the Stockholm syndrome of technology in my opinion. If you are afraid of choice, don’t make one, stay on iOS. Millions of people appear to be unaffected by this horror however, and if you do not understand why that is as a user experience person, perhaps you should look a little deeper. I own a Note 3 with Vision X custom rom. I average about 15hrs of battery life with 5+ hours of screen time.
I am on trial with the Nokia 1520. After moving from the i-phone 5, I would say the phone as a phone is not quite as good, mainly due to size, but vastly better for the internet so I will keep it. I like it but supposedly with Windows 9 Microsoft is more or less going to abandon the windows 8 eco system and go back to a Windows 7 sort of look which will be standard across phones and pc's. So is it worth it to keep the phone? I like the whole tile thing.
now that they boston dynamics, maybe their next phone will transform into a mini drone n do chores for u LOL
This is kind of cool. http://www.engadget.com/2014/06/03/smartphone-3d-holograms-2015/?ncid=rss_truncated
I have it on my nexus 7 tablet. NOthing on my moto x just yet. Seems most of the fixes were for the Nexus 5. Moto X on sale today. 32gb for 350. Makes me giddy knowing the new moto x is right around the corner.
I can agree with you on this! I have the HTC One M8, my wife has the Galaxy S5, and my two kids have the LG G2 phones. Each has it's own strengths and weaknesses, but in my opinion my M8 comes out on top! The M8 doesn't have 1000 features like the S5, but what's the point in having them IF you're not going to use them. The M8 is stylish, is well built (aluminum body), has a fast processor, takes great pictures, has 32G of storage (can x-pand to 128) and has excellent external speakers. Did I mention it's gorgeous?.. (P.S) My wife loves her Galaxy S5, she thinks it better than the M8... ....... ....... .......
Dropped my S3 last week and thought about replacing the screen but the phone had battery issues so now I have more of an excuse to get a new phone. Been looking at the S5, HTC One M8, and Note 3. Any reviews or suggestions?? I have Sprint so my options are limited. Also wouldn't mind getting a pre-owned phone - does Spring still do that?
I'd wait for the G3 if you can. HTC M8 is a great phone but I'm pretty much done with phones that have smaller than 3000 mah batteries, but your usage may be different from mine. I'm in the market for a new phone and the G3 is at the top of my list. next would be the Oneplus One but that wouldn't work on Sprint so you'd be out of luck there. Moto X+1 sounds like it's a ways away as well. I know even if Sprint and T-mobile were to merge, that it'd be a while before you'd have to jump ship one way or another but the Nexus 5 works on Sprint/T-mobile and even on ATT with full LTE compatibility. Out of the 3 you listed I'd probably get an HTC M8, but that's mostly because i'm not a fan of the touchwiz on Samsung. You are so it's probably familiar to you.
Thanks for the info! I've read up on the G3 and it's going to be a monster but it sounds like it won't be available in the states until August. Don't know if I can wait that long with a busted screen and iffy battery. I'm leaning towards the M8, mostly because I want to try a different UI and I love the look of the phone. Solid reviews as well. These phones are starting to get too big though. I thought the size of the S3 was perfect.
Been following the Oneplus release, trying to get one. Boy, this is a huge debacle. This company will be lucky to survive it. I'm under the impression that this is OPPO's attempt at jumping into the international market, and they are the parent company as rumored. Edit: the more I look into it, the more I'm thinking about buying the Oppo Find 7a and taking it to t-mobile. Anyone have this phone?
Fire Phone looks sweet. Too bad I only care for Amazon Prime Shipping and not their videos, books, or movies. I wonder if the price will be competitive.
