I think this season has started pretty strong. The fat girl episode is very thought provoking. Its so true. Most guys don't want to date a fat girl. Even fat guys dont want a fat girl. Probably for the reasons why Louie didn't want to. I think a lot of us have been blinded by things like social media to a point where we want one of those vixens. You know, the type that we see in the best ass/t***/face/combo thread. So bad that we aren't even reaching for the girls who are just like us...
Meh, I think it went way overboard to the point where any credible point made went out the window. The part about fat girls not being able to joke about their weight was true and was something I hadn't considered before, but I don't agree that fat girls aren't desirable to guys in some way. I've dated a chubby girl before (wouldn't call her fat). And I know some guys who like bigger women. I see fat girls with guys all the time, or at least about as often as I see fat guys with girls. I mean, fat guys aren't exactly rolling around in vag (unless they're rich, which makes this irrelevant because rich fat chicks would get young, in-shape guys).
Why can't a guy just be turned off by lack of commitment to caring about your health and appearance? People are entitled to their own tastes.
Lol im not saying you have to love fat chicks. Just wanted to point out an interesting scene that we haven't normally seen.
Oh, I was just responding in general to the narrative that the show was trying to create. His crusading for fat chicks was a bit sanctimonious, IMO. Fat chicks who can't get their pick of the litter of the male population isn't really a demographic worthy of much sympathy. Tough crap. Devote your life to getting in shape, then try again, if it's that important to you.
Couple good episodes on Monday. Elevator Part 6 was great (probably the best one this season), and Pamela Part 1 was pretty good.
I understand Funny . . . men will get be criticized for being shallow but . .. hell Fat women aren't chasing Fat men In every movie where the ugly/fat chick gets a guy it ain't the ugly/fat guy . . . most times anyway I understood the scene.. . I think it was a great scene I think it was poignant and maybe spot on at the end of the day . . .none of should be so shallow but . .. at the end of the day . . .we are. this show can be kind of slow . .. Rocket River
My God, this is quite possibly the best most real thing I've seen on TV ever. I know it feels like an after school special, but there is so much more in there.
Welp, that episode is going to produce multiple Emmys. Fantastic performances throughout. The actress who played the mother's gotta win something for that scene where she confronts Louie. Absolutely heart wrenching. Most realistic portrayal of teenage drug use I have ever seen in any medium. I have heard Louie's scale story in his stand up but this was a whole other animal.

Agreed, wasn't expecting it but really hit home. The sense of authenticy was just insane, really well done. Louie really knows how to surprise his audience that's for sure.
Apparently the episode is dedicated to Phillip S. Hoffman not because of the theme of the episode, but because he was originally cast to play the science teacher right before he died. The fact that the episode dealt with drug use is an eerie coincidence. Granted, pot smoking 13-year olds is several notches below a grown man OD'ing after years of heroin addiction.

This show is like a mix of reality and observational comedy. It's like a darker version of Gilmore Girls?
Yea the show is pretty dark at times. I enjoyed last nights episode but it was kinda depressing (scene with father and mother confrontation)
His stand up is so much better than the show It is more depressing than funny or even humorous most times Rocket River
