Geesh these crazy Stros ! Just couldn't stay up any longer and conked out. Can u say sweep/and at home repeat ? Hats off to the crazy/brilliant coaching of Bo ! let's catch Dallas. yeah !
Do you think Springer will be out of tonight's game too? He seemed pretty animated in the dugout during the game. I know it is probably just precautionary and good to give him a day off every now and again.
I'm glad the ballpark will be more full...can't say I'm thrilled with the effect on these threads though. Enjoyed our small community of die-hards.
I know, this is a board with thousands of members, and maybe about 20 of us have been posting here with any regularity for the last few years. I for one welcome the company, spread the word, the Astros don't suck anymore. Although as we have discussed, I do fear garmification.
You had to be real die hard to follow the Stros the last three years. I liked following the minor league threads. It's been awesome seeing the young guys come up.
Yup. If you lived through the McMullen years, you can live through anything. Glad to see more posters joining in as well.
If you've live through the Crane years, you can live through anything. We've sucked bad. Somehow I've only become a bigger baseball fan over the down years.
That's what makes this so fun to witness...the band wagoners won't be able to truly appreciate a "Championship Season". Go Stros!
It's because there were so few people watching/caring, it's like we were getting treated to a private showing of MLB for the past 7 years, and that almost makes you feel like a part of the what was going on with them and the building of the team. Now it's like our baby is all growns up, and we have to release it to the rest of the world to experience life as a real MLB team.
These years were all Dreighton's fault. He had the first 100 loss season, and he gutted the farm to achieve it. I have enjoyed watching the building of the farm the last few years.
Astros top 10 prospects entering the 2010 season 1.Jason Castro 2.Jiovanni Mier 3.Jordan Lyles 4.Sammy Gervacio 5.Chia-Jen Lo 6.Ross Seaton 7.Tanner Bushue 8.Jay Austin 9.Jon Gaston 10.T.J. Steele The last 4 guys on this list are out of baseball, never having even appeared in the MLB. Lo and Gervacio made short appearences in the show and are now out of baseball. Seaton and Mier are soon to be waived, and unlikely to make it to the show. These were out best prospects, it's been a long climb back.
My thing is, it's very difficult to follow a team as a die-hard fan knowing that 90% of them won't be here long. The farm system was what I have followed as a die hard fan, and now those players I followed are starting to show up at the major league level.
