Good analysis but I think these two teams are so close that it's hard to call. Most, if not all of their games, will come down to one or two plays down the wire. What I don't agree with you is that Miami didn't play a great game. In fact, when the game ended, I thought Miami played the best game they could've possibly play against the Spurs. You have to understand, these two teams are the best in the league. There's not going to be a 15-20 points blowout this early in the series. In game 2, Lebron shot 64% from the field and made 35 pts. A very dominant game, even by his standards. Including Lebron, the Heat had FOUR players in double figures - Lewis, Bosh and Wade. Ray Allen, although only 9 points, had his moments when it mattered. Heat also made better defensive rotations and forced the Spurs to play to their pace down the stretch. The Spurs had a pretty good game but they could've done better. Outside of the Big 3, nobody else had double figures. Two things killed the Spurs in that game: 1). Missed freethrows. Spurs shot 60% from the line. When the game is decided by 2 pts, you need to make your FTs. 2). To beat Miami, you have to have a fourth player step up in scoring outside of the Big 3. Last season, Leonard was a beast. This series, he hasn't done much other than playing solid D on Lebron. Either Leonard or Diaw has to step up on scoring in order for SA to win this series.
LeBron had 35 on 64% shooting, and Leonard was playing solid D on him? The amazing thing is that might actually be true.
Leonard played pretty good D last night IMO. Boris was totally overmatched. Leonard had a hand in Bron's face almost everytime. Can't do much more.
Leonard has to show up offensively for the Spurs. He has done well defending LeBron at times (still gave up 35 points), but otherwise he has been largely missing in action. Green was nullified because of fouls; probably a Heat strategy to get him on the bench. Supporting cast must get hot for a win in Miami.
Well, if the refs would stop calling ticky tack fouls on Leonard. Sure. The refs have largely changed the dynamic of the game with Leonard out. No fast breaks, no change of momentum.
Hearing Steve Smith saying it was a flop by wade. Yeah flopping is going to stop. Smh Battier telling Bosh shooting outside is better than the inside arc, sounds like Morey.
officially speaking, isn't this the first flop of Wade's career. lol of course, going to youtube you can easily find dozens more, many more blatant than the one he was fined for.
That's just a grown man move from the veteran Mark Jackson. You know the rules Duncan. HAND DOWN! MAN DOWN!
