That is if you know it is a flop during the game, how would you know without reviewing many calls? Review after the game and then suspension without pay is much better punishment (2 or 3 flops)

Raise the fine to $25,000 for regular season $50,000 for playoffs. Or I like the suspension idea also as long as it includes loss of game check for the suspended game and the game check for the game the flop was commited in.

My take...fine players based on salary per year:
    For the Regular season(entirety)
    1. 1st offense - 2%
    2. 2nd offense - 2% plus 10 hour community inservice for youth in regards to basketball fundamentals.
    3. 3rd offense - 5% plus warning for future technical fouls
    4. 4th offense - 5% plus retroactive(reviewable by the league) technical foul assessment
    5. 5th offense - 5% plus game suspension
    6. 6th offense or more - 10% plus multi-game suspension

    For the playoffs
    1. 1st offense - 2% plus warning for future techs/suspension
    2. 2nd offense - 5% plus retroactive technical foul(if a player has accrued a technical foul during the course of the game and is found to flop during the same game, he would be issued a second technical and be ineligible for the subsequent game)
    3. 3rd offense - 10% plus 1 game suspension.
    4. 4th offense - 10% plus multigame suspension plus fine for team.

Review booth NBA is implementing next season could check every play for a possible flop.

If the NBA instituted the OP's rules for flopping, Ginobili would be assessed over 240 technicals over the course of an 82 game season.

That would be great, they could get a foul call reversed and points taken away plus the flopper would get an extra technical foul, oh and the fine.

Offensive flop should equate to = turnover on play and an automatic fine of 5-20k
Defensive flop should equate to = one free throw for the offense team and keep the ball. A fine of 5-20k.

2 flops per game = technical foul and fine of 30k. That will stop them.

I said it in the game thread, but the refs need to be held accountable, too. They can't fall for calls.

Watch the replay of the Wade flop. The ref had his back turned when Ginobili swiped, and didn't call it until he reared his head and saw Wade react. You can't make calls on reactions. That ref fell for the bait, and he shouldn't be allowed to ref again this series.

Fine them 20% of their salary after taxes per flop attempt, let's see if this stops the flopping.

Fine every player on the team heavy money. Make his teammates hate him.

People care way too much about flopping, it's really just not that big of a deal. The players will continue to do it if it means easy calls from refs who clearly can't tell the difference between flops and actual contact.

The nba should scrap flopping fines, they're pointless and the issue is the nba themselves.

There's a simple solution: technical foul, also retroactively + starting with a $50,000 fine, second $100,000, third $250,000 and more than 3 is suspension of 5 games for every single flop after that.

I agree it should be a technical foul. This would also limit the flopping to twice per game before the flopper is ejected (two T's and you're out)
