In my experience a lot of people who claim PTSD are BS. Obviously it exists, but it's a shammer's wet dream. There are probably as many bunk PTSD VA claims as there are bunk tinnitus claims.....and there are literally millions of BS tinnitus claims. Just like the bogus tinnitus claims, the PTSD claims usually get put through because it's nearly impossible to prove one way or the other.
Pretty sure that was a joke post. Thus the "However, if they had robbed me then its ok." I thought it was funny.
Robbers get shot all the time in hood corner stores over a couple of foe-ties and a few singles. I don't see why people are so upset that he got shot over an Xbox. I would assume as a robber that you understand you are putting your life at risk once you begin to take someones property, hence why they even bothered to carry weapons in the first place. They knew the risks that came with robbery and unfortunately they got the short end of the stick on this one. People blame the vet for putting himself in this type of situation, but these hoods shouldn't have even put themselves in this type of situation to begin with. You can keep pointing the blame as far back as you please. If these guys decided to get a job instead of robbing a gamestop to pay for their games then this situation would of never existed and no ones lives would of been at risk at that point and time. And who knows what kind of crimes they would have committed afterwards if they got away...and by the looks at that facebook post, the one that was killed had already gotten away with murder.
Really do you have a link that backs up your claim about robbers being "shot all the time in hood corner stores over a couple of foe-ties and a few singles"? And even if that's true, the idea that robbers are killed over a few bucks and some forties should change people's minds from being upset over a robber being killed over an xbox into them being happy about it? Your rationale doesn't make sense.
His point was these guys knew going in that it would be a dangerous endeavour, and that pointing any fingers at the vet unfairly dismisses that fact.
I didn't see anyone denying that the guys knew going in that it was going to be dangerous. And if that was was his intent throwing out unsupported claims of robbers being regularly killed over a bottle of beer and a few bucks is a strange way to approach it. I just wanted some clarification from him on what he was saying.
So you didn't get that he was almost being facetious about robberies generally getting 2 beers and three dollars? The spelling of foe-ties should have helped. The fact remains, armed robbery is a very dangerous game and a high number are in fact shot.
Yes, very true. When we demobbed almost our entire unit did the tinnitus scam and claimed PTSD at some point during the deployment. Most just did it for the free drugs and the lifetime disability check. PTSD is real, but in reality the vast majority of troops come back just fine. I slept like a baby afterwards and didn't claim jack.
For the life of me I don't get why anyone has a problem with this. Good guys 1, Robbers 0. Not seeing the controversy here. Of course I do understand that there are people here who are simply against firearms and all CCW. To me that seems a personal problem.
I just read that the two white supremacists that shot the cops yesterday were confronted by a concealed carry guy. That concealed carry guy is now dead. Be careful when you're strapped up.
Yes. In real life heroes die all the time. Go into it with eyes wide open, and choose your battles wisely.
