For me, it's USA first and foremost, then it's Germany. After that, I'll be interested in seeing how Belgium and France look.

I'll be supporting the USA and only the USA.
After they are gone I will be rooting against EVERY European team, Uruguay and Mexico.

Stop making fun of me that's not nice.
(Or are you being for real lol)

Then again I remember you dont ever seem to like Italy lol. I'd probably put
Italy above France but France have the luck of the draw smh.

Chile has a silver generation: Bravo, Vidal, Alexis Sanchez, Vargas

Indeed we do. Our more underrated players like Jorge Valdivia and Marcelo Diaz are worth keeping an eye on too.

But realistically, it's very tough for us to get out of our group. We absolutely need those 3 points against Australia, so we will see how the players respond to the pressure.

And against Netherlands and Spain, I'm clueless as to how they can go. The last game we played against Spain was a tie 2-2, and we outplayed them (both teams used semi-starting lineups). But that was just a friendly. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat both, I wouldn't be surprised if we tied both, and I wouldn't be surprised if we lost both.

Not mocking you, I am very high on France and stated it here in the past.

Can't make my mind up about Italy, always think they're mediocre when watching qualification matches, but usually they play incredibly well in the real tournament.
Remember how I crapped on them prior to EC and then had to eat my words, so this time I'm not saying anything negative about them.

    But performance and roster-wise:
    Spain>France>Germany>Italy

France struggled to even qualify via playoff. I agree they will have a decent World Cup and have a great roster of talent, but they havent been able to perform well as a team. surely they are behind Germany Italy and even Netherlands and Belgium. even tho i suspect they will have a better performance than both the dutch n belgians

We'll see, I think France finally got their act together right before the start of the tournament and will surprise.

Netherlands and Belgium seem highly overrated to me.

I think Chile will beat Netherlands. We're not playing well, RVP has been injured. We only have 1 legitimate world-class player in Robben. Sneijder can have a world-class game, but is in the wilderness playing in Turkey. Though he turned up to the camp fit and ready to fire, which is to his credit. The rest are players from the Dutch Eredivisie, the Mickey Mouse league of Europe. I'll be celebrating if we get out of the first round. Expecting a clobbering from Spain in the first game.

I'll cheer for the US only and then watch the rest as a fan of the game...well, maybe I'll root some for mexico's opponents...and same for holland. I'm kind of pissed at Dutch people right now.

Any updates on Vidal? Your chances rest with this guy. I do agree El Mago Valdivia is veryyyy underrated. I'm pulling for Chile to get out of that group but ultimately I think it will be Spain and Netherlands.

Agree on Netherlands but not on Belgium.. They could well be the darkhorse only but thing for them is they would face Argentina in the QFs I believe.

I see why root against Mexico (assuming you are American) but why against the Dutch ;)

I root for Portugal when it comes to soccer. Spent a few years there in my 20s. Had only watched soccer during World Cups before. Being there for Euro 2000 was awesome. The whole country shut down for the games.

For some reason I can't get behind Team USA. It's probably because I'm a terrible person.

I was recently let go from a Netherlands based company after 7 years for no fault of my own. I'm bitter and I blame the whole lot of you.

Ribery officially out of the WC according to Deschamps. Huge blow, he was the motor for their team and crucial in the qualification playoffs.

It sure does. I hope FIFA doesn't put an asterisk in the record books when the US wins it all this year
