Just curious on who is supporting what teams in the World Cup: I'm assuming the US is a given. Other than them, who are you guys wishing does well? My List: Just love the physical game the Africans play, lived in Africa for a while so got to support where I grew up. Nigeria Cameroon Ivory Coast Ghana Belgium France Japan Quite a few teams I'm rooting for here, doubt any of them will win the world cup though. Except for France, they have a good chance.
France doesn't have a good chance.. Assuming they win group E they will play runner-up of group F most likely Bosnia. This would be a tough matchup for France, if they do advance they would most likely face Germany in the Quarterfinals. I see them getting eliminated here. If somehow they survive, they would face Brazil in the Semis. In short, France has an accessible group but it gets tough after that. Oh and don't forget, Ribery's health is very questionable at this point.
Hmm I guess count me as one of those that sees France as having a good chance. I could see them getting past the runner up of group F(I wouldn't give the edge to either Bosnia or Nigeria, I think that match will be huge but too close to call who goes through right now). I could see France beating either team and then getting past Germany as well. Maybe I'm crazy I just think the possibility isn't that low but then again it all depends how Deschamps gets them to play.(And Riberys health like you mentioned).
I figure if they go with Bradley sitting deeper in midfield those on the wings of the (4-2-3-1) or (4-4-2) will have added responsibility w/o Bradley coming forward consistently. In the 4-2-3-1, might have Dempsey either playing through the left or middle(if middle then maybe Davis on the left? That's another creator albeit w/crosses) and either Bedoya or Diskerud on the right of the 3 behind Altidore. Those last two-Bedoya and Diskerud, are creative but nothing special. Figure in a 4-4-2 one of them, most likely Bedoya gets the call. I think that's enough. TBH as long as Dempsey and Davis are on the pitch at the same time I think the US will be dangerous going forward. Dempsey creating chances by taking people on and Davis serving balls in to Jozy (and Dempsey if he gets in there). Be of good cheer, I think good chances will still be created by the US in either formation. Don't worry be happy.
No way they get past Germany bro.. In any case, they would have Brazil next. Definitely tough road to final.. possibly this>>1st place in group>> Bosnia>> Germany>>Brazil>>Argentina.
Shhhh, be quiet. Don't want ATW and his bruder Yung-T to hear me saying France can beat Germany. No but seriously, If Ribery is healthy and both France and Germany get out of the group stage, I wouldn't be hesitant to go with France over ze Germans. But that's as far as they'd go. Don't see them getting past QF's (if they do get out of the group stage).
Belgium, Brazil, Argentina, Spain Hope they do well: US, Bosnia Herzegowina, Asian teams, Italy, Chile, Columbia....
I've lived in Chile and Brazil but feel really drawn to support Argentina, too. I think Argentina will do well and it would be nice to see them win (but it might not be so nice for Brazil for Argentina to win in Brazil). I wish I could go back to Brazil this summer and visit friends and family, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen. I'm definitely rooting for a Latin American team to take it.
Cheering for US, want to see Honduras, Costa Rica hopefully do well for the region. Chile and Colombia from South America, and Bosnia from Europe....everyone else meh.
This is who I'm rooting for.. Boludos, Gringos, Catrachos, Ticos, Parceros (Cafeteros), Chilote, Charruas, Majetes, Belgas. Rep if you can guess all of the countries.
Argentina, USA, Honduras, Costa Rica, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Belgium.....but i dont know what Majetes is...Spain!? USA and Chile for me. Meaning....my rooting probably won't go past the group stage
The only team I'll be rooting for is the US. But done of the family likes to supports the "homeland" Italy. I pretty much like to watch as many games as I can and will root for certain players I like (drogba, Boniek, etc)
I will be rooting for France and Belgium (they have become overrated but their country needs some success so I will stick with them). I will probably make an effort to watch all England, USA, and Uruguay matches, though, for various reasons. I will like watching Germany until they make it to the semis and flame out like always. Before that they usually play beautiful football.
I actually share your sentiments and consider France the best Euro team behind Spain. Great roster and no real weaknesses imo, would be very pessimistic if we were to face them.
Besides the US, I am interested in watching Belgium, Ivory Coast, Bosnia-Herzegovina, England and Argentina.
