Given the limited number of challenges a manager can make, maybe Porter was saving his in case a game changer comes up. But if that were the case, why walk out there at all?
They walk out because they have to so the game doesn't move forward. Gives the replay guy a little longer to say yay or nay.
But this was a game-changer... there aren't that many missed calls period, and anything that's "obviously wrong", and has a high probability of costing the team a run, should be challenged.
In retrospect. I agree it should have been challenged though. Not to mention that a successful 1st challenge earns you one more of them. Just trying to guess Porters thinking. So far, I am clueless.
