Spoiler There was also something similar by a certain Stark. I cant find the link right now, but if it turns out to be what I think its going to be....WOW! #CantWait
Is it Sansa Stark? Spoiler <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/igJY6uFZK9M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
They can't be friends?! It's just not possible. Isn't it weird seeing GOT stars out of character? I don't like it.
Dany told Messendei he is missing his "pillar and stones" in the last episode. Of course how Messendei forgot this when she was the translator for the Masters of the unsullied when they were being sold to Dany and I'm pretty sure she told Dany they were eunichs is a mystery.
No she didn't. Dany asked if they took both and Missandei said she didn't know. So neither of them knows for sure.
You actually missed that exchange. Dany asked Messendei whether or not they took the whole thing, you know "the pillar and the stones." Messendei said she didn't know. Dany asked "haven't you ever wondered" to which Messendei replied in the affirmative. Neither is actually sure whether it was a full removal. But, I agree that it is a ridiculous plot stretch to think she wouldn't know. Nobody who has ever bought the unsullied has asked? She's never been educated on what it means to be unsullied so she can inform a buyer? Crazy.
It was never said in the TV show if both their "pillars and stones" were taken. Dare I ask a book reader if this is clarified in the books.......
Spoiler In the books, the unsullied are fully castrated (pillar and stones) and their genitals are burned at an altar. But seeing as they have this Grey Worm/Missandei love connection going on, which isn't in the books, they might decide to leave him his "pillar" on the show.
I must have misheard. It's such a stupid plot line either way. Messendei worked for the slavers who sold them, so it's still dumb that she wouldn't know, and apparently they bathe in the same river, so even if she never saw Greyworm, it seems likely she would have caught a glimpse of one of the other Unsullied. According to the show wiki, because they are eunuchs, the Unsullied will not succumb to bloodthirsty or sexual urges in the midst of battle; so the whole point of making them eunuchs is to make it physically impossible to have the type of situation the show has created between Grey Worm and Messendei where he appears to be sexually attracted to her.
Agreed that it is a stupid plot point. It is possible for him to have romantic feelings for her that are non-sexual though. Anyway, it's dumb. The whole Dany story is dumb at this point.
re: romantic feelings from an unsullied and how possible that would be based on what we know from the books (no plot or story spoilers). Spoiler Even that is argueable, they made them kill their puppies that they raised for a year, and kill a baby, and all these other things to kill any emotional attachement to anything as part of the process of becoming an unsullied. Perhaps after an extended amount of time being "free" from unsullied life, it would be possible, but it seems unlikely given the time frame Messendei and Greyworm have spent together. Of course in the books Messendei is 10 years old and there are no romances involving Greyworm with anyone.
Of all the things going on in this show, that is a part you get hung up on? I'm thinking it was just an excuse to get viewers a look at Missendei's goods, because otherwise color me in the group who finds Danerys and co.'s current plot trajectory incredibly boring. I get it, something needs to happen to keep it going, but should have been a something that was more interesting. Maybe dragged out Jorah's outing and excommunication to be more dramatic, I dunno. Something.
It was interesting that they dug up Gendry and then promptly hid him away again, all while Dany is wandering a continent away, husband-less. With Gendry being a legitimately real heir to the Iron Throne, and with Dany inevitably heading to some kind of showdown in Westeros, it makes me wonder if eventually those two hook up somehow. The only reason I ask is because of that South Park episode about the Red Robin Wedding.. when Butters confronts GRRM, Spoiler .. (spoilered just in case) GRRM mentions something about a young blacksmith hatching some kind of plan. At that time, I had not watched a single episode of GoT, and in fact it was the South Park episodes which made me decide to go ahead and get into the show.. lol but I always remembered the GRRM character talking about a young blacksmith. And obviously, once Gendry was introduced in the show, I knew that's who they were referring to, but we have not seen hide nor hair of him at all since then.. which makes me think he is lurking out there ready to be sprung as some kind of surprise. Now this is just show speculation, I am not asking book readers to spoil anything! Just tossing the idea around..
