No, the soldiers are talking about their experiences with Bergdahl and I would encourage them to share this information with the military investigators. Feinstein, et. al. shot down a deal a couple of years ago, but none of them are CinC, they don't have the duty to return their servicemen to America.

Yes, it is a simple prisoner exchange and, given that they only had one prisoner to trade, had leverage for a 5 to 1 trade. We bring POWs home, at any reasonable cost.

Then he was naive when he said so (assuming he did). Every president in modern history has used signing statements and it seems unreasonable to expect that he would be the first to eschew such statements.

You do a 5 for 1 prisoner swap with a POW. If he turns out to be a traitor, you punish him as such.

 

He isn't a comrade any longer once he deserts his comrades. You have to remember one thing here. There are families who will be emotionally affected by this decision. His platoon feels betrayed by the adminstration and so do the families of those killed as a result of his search.

 

He obviously didn't defect, he was a prisoner. He was an American POW for God's sake.

 

They will have the chance to weigh in, the military is conducting an investigation. You are welcome to believe he is a traitor, but he deserves his day in court just like every other American does. Innocent until proven guilty, for f***'s sake.

 

This whole incident is just getting worse and worse as more information comes out. The action appears indefensible. Sending Susan Rice out AGAIN to tell lies is just inexplicable.
