Rather have Love/Harden than Love/Melo. Harden is much younger and has less likelihood of decline than Melo.

Harden is also the more valuable trade asset.

Parsons would start at the 3, with Anthony at the 4... Cyberx's post had several "mistakes" that was my point but other posters pointed them out.

The key is CAP. If other team makes a poison contract, will rockets match if Morey really plans to get a third star this off season? I highly doubt it.

    This does sound plausible.

As a side note, this is the first time I'm saying this, but I'm starting to doubt cyberx's validity. I do believe that he has some inside sources, however, I don't think everything he shares here is 'inside' info like people want to believe. It seems as if some of the info is just speculation, or rumors that he read elsewhere. For example - mentioning how Love would prefer to go to L.A. because his girlfriend is an actress that lives there - shortly after him posting that, I was reading HoopsHype and read the same thing on there from a different source.

Cuban would have to convince Marion to come off the bench. Plus, his most pressing need is for a rim protector

"expected" to command $12 million a year?? Are you kidding me??

Playing him alongside Harden is a death wish for this team - they absolutely need a better defender at the 3 with Harden's lack of defensive ability. He's also a guy that can't do much against defenses that TRY.

parsons is not worth more than $6 million a year - and hurts a team if the other wing player is not an above average defender. you should all be ASHAMED. you're victims of the hype machine

Since we dont want to overpay parsons its good that morey letting the Market dictates his true value. But i believe that parsons and morey may up to something good i hope.but i'm pretty sure we can get melo the knicks would choose a sign and trade vs letting the guy walk for nothing. Lin amd asik could be a good 1yr rental for them.

I laughed so hard at that statement.
LOFs are a joke and I'm glad they will be gone soon.

Parsons is getting far more than $6 million a year, that's the kind of money you pay BEFORE somebody breaks out to a 16-5-5 guy. Parsons is going to get $8 million at the very least, and maybe up to $10 million if a team becomes desperate enough.

Oh! I was late to hear the news! I'm reading the thread now and still trying to soak up all the various info.

I think I'm having brain hemorrhage here, there's so many things to consider!

Very interesting move from Morey. And so the plot thickens! Can't really say I'm disagreeing with Cyberx completely. Have you seen how Parsons has change now compared to when he first started? This is how I interpreted some of Cyberx's words

Maybe Parsons feels threaten with the Melo coming over thing?. Won't Melo coming means Parsons would have lesser time with the ball and he'll be relegated as 4th option behind Harden Howard and Melo? We all know Melo's game; he needs that ball in his hands, and lesser chances with the ball would mean lesser stats for Parsons. And lets face it, Melo not driving the ball in his hands is not happening anytime soon. He has seniority (ego) too, doubt he'll let a guy who's his junior have more touches than he does. :p

Not to mention his pride might not handle being the 4th guy after the services he's given Rockets, also he's been underpaid for what, 2yrs now? He also help with the Dwight acquisition. He's clearly thinking after they got him cheap and the times he 's played, that rockets will respect the contribution he's given to them, and should be prioritize. (Also thinking if Parsons already considers himself the glue guy, the one who completes the "big 3")

If Melo comes over it also shortens the pay Parsons and his agent can squeeze out of the Rockets, him coming over means payday will be lesser than dreamed of. Parsons clearly has a very capable agent as well, that guy clearly has reputation as a kickass handler, who's gonna stop him in shopping for more than 13mil? Anyway thats just my take, pure speculation base on My observation of Parsons over the years.

Even though Rockets has Bird Rights but who's to say other loser teams won't be vying for Parson's talent and offer him crazy money that we wont be able to match? Since declining his option does not necessarily translates that we get to keep him for sure, but its just one way for the team to excercise their option as best as they could given the situation, it gives Rockets more leverage than risking to let him walk as unrestricted later on.

Just have one thing to ask, why did you say "bench" though? Wont Melo and Parsons still be able to play as starting? You don't mean the minutes right? Would Parsons minutes be cut off if Melo comes over? Very confuse.
