No, I believe as much as possible we rescue POWs. We can work out our differences later.

So you're in favor of negotiating with terrorists over a deserter? That's great logic

Have you actually read anything about this case? Qatar facilitated the exchange. Qatar did not ask to free the 5, the Taliban and Haqqani did.

Look, I will freely admit to trolling you guys sometimes, but really, are you just trolling here? It's hard to tell if you're genuinely dumb or are just trolling.

Surely the stress of battle has never affected people's rational thinking. Glad to know you are in favor of DESERTING American POW.

I'm sure that was the case. Often when people are stressed out it leads to treason and dessert, particularly chocolate desserts.

Any other time you're always saying you'll wait for all the facts to come out. Why are you so eager to judge in this case?

How do you know the five detainees aren't working for the US government? Maybe they were released with hopes that they will lead us to a bigger prize? Maybe they are being tracked without their knowledge?

Why are you always hoping Obama really is trying to ruin America, just so you can have a "win" on a basketball forum?

I think he deserted because he was a flaky libtard who hated his country and hated the military. That's the picture the people from his unit paint, at least.

This is what happens when you let left-wing whackos have children.

Do you really believe this? You know, the real world doesn't work this way.

Probability that these guys turned and our working for us = 0% chance.

Chance they will "lead" us to a bigger fish = 0% chance since they are no longer under our control.

Odds they are being tracked without their knowledge = 0% chance. Of course their whereabouts will be tracked while in Qatar. A year from now when they get to Pakistan they will easily disappear. (oh, you must think they have implanted GPSs or something; seems like you guys watch a lot of TV...)

You can stick your post up your arse, chump.

Personally, I'm not crazy about the exchange. Until I learn more of the details, I'm withholding judgement.

Question: ppl keep saying his "unit" paints a picture of him,,,,multiple soldiers. The first day I only saw one soldiers quotes being requoted everywhere. After all, they were told not to speak

I haven't followed this story today so don't know anything new.

Is there multiple soldiers being quoted? Not to say it matters. But I'd like to know

I stuck my post in this thread, right where it belongs. Suck it. :p

Go ahead and withhold your judgement, that is your prerogative. I have seen more than enough evidence that he is at the least a deserter. The people who knew him and searched for him are convinced he is a deserter, and possibly a traitor. He left a note stating that he was deserting. The DoD concluded without a shadow of a doubt that he deserted. That is enough for me.

The fact that you choose to ignore evidence and pray this doesn't turn into a monumental PR sh!tstorm for your beloved POTUS means nothing to me. But you are of course free to indulge your fantasies.

Yes. I have posted numerous links to them throughout this thread. Nobody ever clicks on them... But they are there.

Over the past couple of days a decent number of guys from his unit have come out with their stories, and they are all pretty consistent. His own Team Leader just came out and said that he heard intercepted radio transmissions indicating the American (Bergdahl) wanted to talk to the Taliban.

The fact that neither the DoD nor the Administration has yet to refute any of their testimony tells me everything I need to know about the veracity of their claims.

While I am 100% pro-life and think abortion is murder, the part I put in bold is the best argument for abortion.;)

I love it when treeman gets worked up. He starts off somewhat polite and communicative but it always go downhill from there...
