I thought Daylon Mack had committed to A&M a long time ago? Was I just hallucinating? Also, getting Siverand is huge. Sumlin is KILLING IT right now.
Mack had committed a while back, but he took all the A&M stuff off his Twitter, started talking about exploring options, scheduled visits to LSU, Auburn, and Alabama, and basically was acting like someone who was rethinking his commitment. Apparently pulling Murray nailed him down, and convinced Silverand to pull the trigger. If only it had convinced Kirk, Sheffield, and Jefferson to do the same...

So, the best linebacker and best defensive tackle off an already bad defense are now gone. Great. I had high hopes for Golden too. Looked like a beast coming out of high school.
Every big program has issues like this and I know the old saying about glass houses, so I'm not just a Longhorn here to laugh at aggie misery...but how many arrests is that over the past year? Seems like it is hitting unprecedented levels.
Surprised people are praising Sumlin here. Both of these guys already had two strikes and were just arrested for aggravated robbery.
If that's the case, then maybe they should have been booted before they started robbing and pistol-whipping people?
This doesn't just hurt this year but long term. Those 2 guys might have been the difference between a good and special defense 1-2 years from now. It's not like we're endlessly deep like Alabama. We needed these 2 to pair with the incoming young talent. And don't forget, we also lost out on Hoza Scott. That's 3 game changing college football players.
If these guys accounted for such a significant % of your recent arrests, surely a single case of possession wasn't the only warning sign.
Q: What do you say to an Aggie football player wearing a business suit? A: The defendant will now rise. #WRTS (We Request Time Served)
Sumlin had no choice. They're in jail for aggravated assault. Not like he could just suspend them for the first half against Lamar. They are gone regardless of what he does.
