Scariest movie I've seen. Wasn't able to sleep when I got home from watching it in the theaters.

12 years a Slave. Yeah, I'm waaay late to the party but what a freaking amazing and moving movie. I couldn't watch the rape part though.

    10/10. Perfection all around.

American Hustle - 8. Could have been higher but I thought it dragged a little at times end and ending/payoff just seemed rushed.

Wolf of Wall street - 7.5. Too long. Thought the first half was solid but it started to lose me. Pacing just seemed off at times

Watched TAMS 2: 6.5/10 - Electro and its CGI was terrific, Emma stone is beautiful, the guy playing Harry was a decent actor, a lot of sentimental stuff making the movie a bit longer than it needed to be...And Andrew Garfield is much better than Tobey Macguire as Peter/Spiderman.

    All Is Lost (2013)

    7.5/10

Very lean and focused survival story of one man in a yacht lost in the Pacific Ocean. Many sailors and seamen hate it because several rookie mistakes are made. However, I say that's part of the story: a wannabe yachtsman is punished by Mother Nature. There's little dialogue; the camera narrates. Robert Redford makes this a character study without giving any background on who he is, why he's there, and what he's thinking.

    Frozen - 6/10

I'm usually not a fan of animated movies, but my daughter got this for her b-day so we've watched it 3 times over the past few days. Entertaining flick, even for adults.

Little dialogue is an understatement. One of the worst movies I've seen in a long time.

    Bad Words - 6/10

Enjoyed it... although the "40 yr old man vs 10 yr old kid" romance was a bit awkward. Same romantic comedy formula, with a slight touch of pedophilia.

Lol why'd you hate it so much? Do you dislike minimal-dialogue films in general? If so, you're missing out because movies like Badlands, Le Samourai, and Once Upon a Time in the West.

Tristram Shandy: A **** and Bull Story 7/10. Definitely some funny moments. Better than most movies that are about making a movie.

    Frozen

I'm not buying the hype for this at all. Felt very average to me. Too many songs, none of which were memorable. I liked the message of the story, but felt it was a bit buried at times. Some good moments, but really not enough of them. Tangled was much better.

    Steamboy

Saw this one on TV the other day. Pretty decent flick as a Japanese animated movie. Theme of the dangers of the advancement of science in the wrong hands.

yeah I saw this in the theater with kids and when I realized ( I didn't know before I went) that it was a musical... I wanted to grab a knife and gouge my eyes out right there. The 'let it go' song is admittedly catchy but that is the first movie in a long long time that I literally went to sleep once the true pain set in. absolutely brutal. 3/10 and would be less if not for catchiness of the songs. That movie is just a total wow brutalization for me.

Just flew to London and back for business and caught up on a lot of movies:

    12 years a Slave : 10
    American Hustle : 9
Wolf of Wall Street: 8 (one too many qualudes segments)
Anchorman 2: 5 (better than expected)
Game of Shadows : 7 (not as good as first Holmes movie)
Meet the Millers: 5 (also better than expected)

    I know I'm late, but...

    Collateral - 7.5/10
    Jerry Maguire - 7/10

I took Tom Cruise for granted; dude is pretty talented.

Haunted house 2 at the dollar theater. I'm surprised how HD the movie looked. Last movie I saw was mib3 and you could see folds on the screen and the quality looked like crap. Pretty funny and a lot sex of scenes.

12 Years a Slave: well deserved of winning Best Picture. 10/10

American Hustle: 9. Excellent movie and strong performances from the actors (notably Christian Bale as always), just didn't have quite enough for me to call it a 10.

The Lego Movie: 7/10. Good film for any audience, but obviously more of a kid's movie.

...but Frozen? Pure garbage. I was a 90's kid who grew up with, you know, quality Disney movies such as Aladdin, Toy Story, Lion King, etc. Frozen is an utter disgrace and "Let it Go" may be the most annoying song I've ever heard.

    Layer Cake

    7/10

One of those movies I've been meaning to watch for a while, so with today off I knocked it out. Solid acting around. Some pacing issues, but it was Matthew Vaughn's directorial debut so I ain't mad.
