What happens if he gets busted with weed again? Is it 100 games?

So not only do expectations not matter, but now right/wrong opinions don't matter either!

Really running out of stuff to talk about on here... basically we'll just all sit here and comment on known things/speak about already happened results ;).

TBH, not really sure what we're talking about anymore.

Hopefully he stays clean long enough for me to see him play on Thursday.

He's giving up a lot of money if he's good.

    3 team option years. Wowzers.

    Good move for the Stros

Our Expectations don't matter when it comes to real world money dealings between clubs and players

As for "right/wrong" opinions mattering, i'm sure they matter a whole lot for many on here. They just don't matter to me in any way. I like reading opinions as much as the next guy, that's obviously why I come on here.

But to try to take "credit" for being right, or to try to show that i'm "better" than others on here because I was "right" . . .that's just laughable to me

But hey, we all have our reasons for coming onto message boards and so forth, so I'm sorry for criticizing you for trying to be the best poster, or whatever

I'm sorry man if I offended you and your abilities to be right, I really am

He has been on the 40 man roster all year and thus exempt from any sort of mar1juana screening. For all we know he has been smoking before every game this season, I really could care less as long as he hits.

For some reason, your extended responses always end with apologies... strange.

I don't care about being "right"... but when you make baseless statements like "you just can't get over them keeping Springer down...", and claim that I'm some secret troll here... I've gotta find some sort of reason why you're just starting to make stuff up about me.

Yeah... but he's also getting a ton of money if he ultimately doesn't care or fails to get his personal life totally in check.

You could look at it both ways... I would be more worried about him getting a little too comfortable up here (like Villar has seemed to do).

I can't figure out why everyone's (i.e. players, player's union) slamming Singleton for making the move.

To me, it seems like a great risk/reward move, given the potential payout. If he's, say, solid but not amazing... he probably gets $10M over his first 6 years if they arb him all the way through. Or maybe just a little more.

I don't know what conditions have to be satisfied to reach $35M, but if he can even get part of the way there after 6 years, I'd say it was a smart move. Less upside, but the guarantee given the failure rate in the majors makes it solid.

(I agree with Nick--I think you said it--that it might not be good for someone with his maturity issues. TBD I suppose)

Eh most of these guys have career ending injury insurance policies. I understand both sides of the argument although as a player I would hope to have enough confidence in myself to prove my worth. And get my money's worth.

Glad he's voicing his opinion, but that "sorry but" stuff is so damned weak.

Buddy Norris is trying to crusade against the Astros' organization and it is incredibly annoying.

Sorry but, someone is going over pay for a mediocre starting pitcher.

Probably real easy for Bud to bash someone's contract when he's well into his career and already made a good amount of money.

No one on earth knows what this contract means for Singleton and his family the way Singleton does. Sorry, I'm not gonna be that guy that hates on a kid who is gonna get 10mil. Whether he could've gotten more isn't the question. The fact that a young man just got guaranteed financial stability for the rest of his life and can now assist with his fathers medical bills is why I'm extremely happy for Singleton.
