LOL, the only spoiler/warning I gave friends before they started watching GOT was to not get overly emotionally attached to anyone because there was a pretty good chance that character might die. GRRM is a sadist.
It's a fight to the death. The Mountain obviously hadn't died yet. Whether he did or did not die afterwards, Oberyn died first. Therefore, he loses. C'mon, guys. I know you liked Oberyn and you don't want to see Tyrion die, but I don't think the show is trying to pull one over on you. Tyrion wasn't protesting. He looked completely dejected knowing that Oberyn had snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. And then you have Twyin declaring Tyrion guilty and sentencing him to death. I think that was the writers spelling it out plainly for you.
Perhaps, but just knowing that people will die shouldn't spoil too much and let's face it, there were times I was so angry about a character dying off that I considered not continuing to read the books. I figure if they know ahead of time that some people will die it might not potentially ruin the series. The red wedding for example. That pissed me off. I wanted Robb Stark to be the eventual winner and when they killed him off, I considered not reading anymore because I wasn't sure I would care about who eventually won....I'm still not sure, but I'm going to keep reading/watching anyway.
Well the long story short is Tywin said Tyrion was guilty . . . in the show . . . so it is so. The trail by combat is not a 'Lannister" rule. . . remember the did it at the Aerie all of that is 'in the show' Rocket River
Yeah, goodness knows that no shows in the history of time have ever led you to believe one thing was going to happen, then another thing ultimately ends up happening.
I wonder if the confession by the Mountain is going to mean anything in the next or coming episodes. I think back to the first GoT unexpected death when they killed off Ned Stark. Now, a few seasons in, I'm kind of numb. I'm fine with them killing off everyone we love, I'm shrugging off these deaths left and right, but those storylines that are also aborted is often times more frustrating than the deaths. Ned, Rob, Oberyn, Joffrey, Drogo, **** even Renly had more interesting storylines than what is on the show now. The Hound and Breaane are just walking around doing a sitcom with their partners. We got John Snow sitting at the wall just waiting for the wildlings to come and kill off the knights watch. we got Danny in another part of the world kinda just sitting around while her dragons get fat off sheep and small children. Lanisters basically ignoring The North and Danny while they desperately try to kill Tyrion. And finally we got that guy with the fire lady with the nice t*** borrowing money. I think only Littlefinger and Tyrion have truly interesting storylines.
If you watch G O T for happy thoughts, you're gonna have a bad time. George RR is just crushing beetles.
I forgot if I asked this already.... it's Monday and I am tired. Oh well. But last season ended with what seemed like would end up with Stanis and his crew heading to the wall to lend support. Davos received that letter and Melisandre seemed to give the blessing. This season... nothing on that front. Which is weird.

Nothing I can say about this last episode that hasn't already been said. But I do want to comment on the intro to each episode. Anyone else look forward to the way they do the credits? In addition to the dramatic, unforgettable theme, I like how each episode has a different opening, panning through through the continents and giving you an idea of where events in that episode will take place. Anytime they show a new place (like Braavos), I think it's pretty neat. Actually, speaking of which, anyone know why they showed Braavos in this last episode? I figure they keep showing Winterfell since the story revolves around one of the Starks. It'd be cool to see The Vale, or wherever it is Stannis' story takes place.
They've showed both the "eyrie" (where the vale is) and "dragonstone" (where Stannis is). I think they'll continue to show Bravos because they're proud of that design (with the coin and the man)... its the most impressive animation they got besides the wall.
