Console Wars Thread! PS4 vs. Xbox One vs. Wii U Fight!

Nintendo has the greatest library of IP of any hardware maker. They should be using it. Mario Kart 8 is awesome.

 

Titanfall is a bad ass game...definitely as good as I expected it to be.

 

I can't bring myself to say that. Its almost identical to Mario kart Wii and Mario kart 3DS. It was great the first time I played it. They added a couple of new items, brought back coins, and 16 new levels. Woo hoo. At least double dash tried something new.

 

Graphics are crazy, gameplay is vastly improved ( lakitu recovery FTW) anti-gravity is fun.

If you liked MK before the only thing that fell off is battle mode. Everything else is way better.

Has anyone here played Child of Light?

 

If you're happy I'm happy for you. To be honest I don't care about the graphics, playing Nintendo has never been about graphics. They basically ruined two player split screen now with it being a vertical split. The gameplay is basically the same. Remember, if you're in first the only items you will get are banana's, shells and now coins. That's basically the same gameplay as before, but with a handful of new tracks. All in all, the game is more of the same, the long wait is sort of ridiculous just to get this.

 

Nintendo has always been about cheaper hardware. They get incredible visuals out of that hardware.

MK8 doesn't look good "for Nintendo" it looks great compared to anything out right now.

I agree if you didn't like Mario Kart before they didn't come out with a GT6 and call it MK8. It is Mario Kart still, just way better.

 

Is it true MK8 doesn't have arenas for its battle mode and just uses the courses? If so that's awful, battle mode was one of my fav parts of the game

 

If you check a couple pages back we were talking about it quite a bit, but I just recently beat it and loved it. Beautiful graphic style, great soundtrack, and good gameplay

 

Yep, and it makes battles worthless. You can go for a while without even seeing anyone.

 

That's disappointing. Hopefully they have some downloadable arenas later one. Free of charge of course. I'm surprised they didn't have an arena creator in this game kinda like how you could make stages in Smash Bros Brawl

 

Are there any reasons for a PC gamer to get one of the new consoles yet? I guess Madden, but I hate the series enough lately to make me weight. Is 2K15 not going to be on PC (I usually weight till sports titles are $5 anyways)?

 

That's the thing, I love Mario kart. I have always liked it. I wanted a reason for why it took them almost 6 months extra and why the titles on the Wii u have been lacking. If this is the raised bar of quality in saddened. I have loved Mario kart since the super Nintendo, but I'm not a blind fan who likes a regurgitated product. If I wanna play Mario kart Wii, ill play it on Wii. The same goes for 64 and SNES. Like I said earlier, at least with double dash they tried something new while preserving something old.

 

Is Watch Dogs worth it?

 

Only played a few hours, but I think
so. The premise is refreshing, and it's always nice to get in on the first installment of a new IP that has potential. I think of it as a mix between GTA and Arkham.

 

I was a big fan of the last Mortal Kombat and its good to hear that they are indeed coming out with Mortal Kombat X. Not sure if CG trailer or supposed to represent actual gameplay, but looks like you will the environment will be your friend in this one

Looks like CG. It could be somewhat representative of gameplay if it's next gen only though. If it was gameplay, they likely would have tooted their horn there.

Big fan of Mortal Kombat here, and MK9 was great. Injustice: Gods Among Us was very well done as well, and I'm definitely not a DC guy.

 

I bought Mario Kart 8 due to the free additional game (WW HD for me, since I already owned New Super Mario Bros & haven't been into Pikmin).

It's fun, but of course it is still the same game, just updated. But that generally describes most sequels that aren't story based.

 

Mario Kart looks absolutely great, and I'm going to pick it up today.

Death Stare Luigi is also now an Internet phenomenon.
