Nice comeback. Great follow-up to your "if coaches aren't important then we shouldn't have any of them" smart analysis.

McHale is needed because he is the recruiter and, more importantly, because Morey and Alexander are seriously deficient recruiters. If the Rockets basketball exec was a great recruiter like Pat Riley, maybe you can afford to replace McHale with some tactician. But our GM is Morey, who gets laughed at by big time free agents.

Morey and Lionel Hollins or Ty Corbin or Lawrence Frank would not have gotten us Dwight Howard.

The 2012'ers are emotional, don't mind them.

Corbin was a terrible HC but I'd welcome him here as an assistant.

I was thinking that sense he was a terrible HC, what benefits could he bring to us as an assistant?
DM should go after Mario Elie. He would be a very good assistant coach IMO.

It's like deciphering a 3 yr olds chicken scratch.

I struggle to derive reason from your ramblings.

If he is a great recruiter, then maybe he should have been hired as a recruiter. Honestly what good is recruiting all this talent when he can't coach them it gets us nowhere.

Can't wait for free agency so the drizzle and dribble slows down.

    Go Rockets !

He is hired as a recruiter.

The problems is that Dean Cooper, Chris Finch and especially JB Bickderstaff suck at coaching. Kelvin Sampson was missed.

Wrong. Don't be silly. He is hired as the Head Coach of the Houston Rockets.
Sampson was missed. His absence exposed McHale's limitations.

Pretty obvious to me that Finch is the OC and Sampson was the DC.

Not sure what Bickerstaff or Cooper did. Finch didn't look that involved in-game either.

corbin was sloan's top assistant for years. the jazz didn't have the talent to compete in a super talented western conference. i'm not holding him responsible for their failures. he's a good candidate because sloan was one of the best tacticians in nba history.
