Maybe he still has his house here? Lots of NBA players live in Houston.

I hope we can get him back though

Anyone have the gif where Pat ass-pats Thabeet?

Sorry guys. I accidentally posted this thread from my other account.

    DD

Patterson is reported to be working with Olajuwon this summer. Maybe he is in town for those sessions.

    Scola...PPat...

Who's next? Kevin Martin? Jordan Hill? Didn't John Lucas Jr. play for us once??

Seriously, if you're going to go the "nostaligic route" then go all out and resign McGrady. Geesh.

What didn't work out about it?

Asik and Patterson led the 2nd leading defensive rebounding team in the league

Howard and Jones led the 20th leading defensive rebounding team in the league

The best part is our idiotic fans who whined constantly about Patterson's rebounding, yet said nothing about it this year, despite team rebounding being CONSIDERABLY WORSE.

You know 2Pat didn't really contribute to defensive rebounding right. Pat does not beleive rebounding is part of the game.

Wasn't that because Patterson was mostly at the perimeter, forcing the opposing PF away from the paint leaving only Asik and opposing Center?

2Pat was great at boxing out. T-Jones sucks at doing that on a very fundamental level.

While I'm not disagreeing w/you T-Jones isn't a good rebounder because he lacks size/strength. IDC what he does if he doesn't bulk up he'll still have the same problems. I'm all for 2pat coming back but lets not act like he was the greatest rebounder either

    According to nbawowy,

Rockets defensive rebounding % last year.

With PPat and Asik - 76.6%
With Asik and no PPat - 76.2%
With PPat and no Asik - 72.8%

    Rockets eFG% defense last year

With PPat and Asik - 52.3%
With Asik and no PPat - 48.1%
With PPat and no Asik - 51.9%

I think it's safe to come to three conclusions with this.

    1. Patterson doesn't belong in the same sentence as Asik when it comes to defensive rebounding.

    2. Any miniscule extra defensive rebounding that Patterson brings is more than offset by our defense overall when he's on the court. And note that the Rockets replacement for PPat last year were Jones, DMo, Delfino, Parsons, etc. Not exactly Zach Randolph or Kevin Love.

    3. Asik is awesome. Patterson is not.

lol 2pat. So damn yolked yet all he does is shoot jumpers. With a body like that you think he'd be one of those bruisers down in the post. He has to be one of the most finesse buff players i have ever seen
